This book is a result of an effort made by us towards making a contribution to the preservation and repair of original classic literature.
In an attempt to preserve, improve and recreate the original content, we have worked towards:
1. Type-setting & Reformatting: The complete work has been re-designed via professional layout, formatting and type-setting tools to re-create the same edition with rich typography, graphics, high quality images, and table elements, giving our readers the feel of holding a 'fresh and newly' reprinted and/or revised edition, as opposed to other scanned & printed (Optical Character Recognition - OCR) reproductions.
2. Correction of imperfections: As the work was re-created from the scratch, therefore, it was vetted to rectify certain conventional norms with regard to typographical mistakes, hyphenations, punctuations, blurred images, missing content/pages, and/or other related subject matters, upon our consideration. Every attempt was made to rectify the imperfections related to omitted constructs in the original edition via other references. However, a few of such imperfections which could not be rectified due to intentional\unintentional omission of content in the original edition, were inherited and preserved from the original work to maintain the authenticity and construct, relevant to the work.
We believe that this work holds historical, cultural and/or intellectual importance in the literary works community, therefore despite the oddities, we accounted the work for print as a part of our continuing effort towards preservation of literary work and our contribution towards the development of the society as a whole, driven by our beliefs. We are grateful to our readers for putting their faith in us and accepting our imperfections with regard to preservation of the historical content. HAPPY READING!

This is a awesome book and dont be fooled by the synopsis. There are like 10 different ppl and all there stories are compleatly different and have nothing to do with each other.....or do they? It is filled with mysteries, love ( not the sappy kind) and adventure, wrongs made right and wayyyy more! I would reccomend it to anyone. There is nothing wrong, sugestive, or any lango that is wrong. Please please read it!

It's not necessarily spiritually inspiring but it is a really good read for those who want something that's hard to put down and yet has good clean fun for their young adolescent kids to read!

The Hidden Hand is about a young heroine Capitola, as the main character, endeavoring to survive in a poor man’s world, that is brought to become a ward of a wealthy old General.  All seems well for she is in a better situation, however to her dismay, there is no excitement in the old country home, and she wishes for more exciting things to happen, such as, robberies, murder, and fires, but be careful what you wish for.  Through the following of several different people, their connections to each other become more clear as the reader devours each page.  Published in 1859, in her husband’s name, and one of the first books to have a heroine as the main character, Mrs. E.D.E.N. Southworth uses great characterization, and detail.  She stays true with her time, using past descriptions that are no longer used, and she describes every situation perfectly.  This is an excellent book to understand, the past, and the present of somewhat real situations, and feelings.  The writing enveloped me as I became one with the Victorian Era, and with such great detail, you feel as though you are there witnessing the events that take place.  It is more of an adventurous genre, and actually made me wonder if Margaret Mitchell read this book before she wrote Gone with the Wind, because Capitola is so spirited, as was Scarlett O’Hair. This is a great book for all ages, and you forget that this book was written so long ago because of how current it is to today’s world.

I have read this like five ties, and it never gets old :) it has a great moral and is a good christian book ... would suggest for 13+ though because of touchy subjects ( i.e. marriage & bethrothal and a small amount of violence and children born from wedlock ect.)
