About the Author

Alyson McLayne is an award-winning writer of contemporary, historical, and paranormal romance. After earning her degree in theater at the University of Alberta, she moved to the west coast of Canada and worked in film for several years before buckling down and finishing her first published book.

She lives in Vancouver with her prop master husband, twin ten-year-olds, a couple of crazy kittens named Loki and Topaz, and a sweet, sucky chocolate lab named Jasper.

Deirdre MacIntyre attends a clan gathering at the insistence of her husband, Lewis, leaving her adopted four-year-old son, Ewan, at home. When she meets fierce warrior Gavin MacKinnon, his resemblance to Ewan makes her think he may be Ewan’s father. Deirdre knows little of Ewan’s origin; Lewis gave the young boy to her two years ago, claiming to have fathered him out of wedlock, and she’s done her best to mother him.
