About the Author


Mark MacPherson: is a photographic enthusiast and an independant publisher bassed in Perth, Australia. He has previously authored "Isolated" in collaboration with Die Gestalten, Berlin. He is collaborating with artists to create a cultural network between Australian and international photographers.

Ute Noll: is known for publishing and exhibiting cutting-edge, fine art, and documentary photography. She has been working in the field for more than 12 years. In 2006 she started On Photography & Illustration. She works with publications such as the Frankfurter Rundschau newspaper, and has published more than 300 portfolios of emerging photographers. Recently she opened the Uno Art Space in Stuttgart, where she regularly shows international exhibitions. Every month she contributes articles about photographers, exhibitions and photofestivals in the German magazine Photographie as well as other publications. Since 2004, Ms. Noll has been a curator and jury member of the annual international photo festival Darmstadter Tage Der Fotografie which also awards the new established 5000 Euro "Merck-Award of the Darmstädter Tage der Fotografie". She works occasionally as a part time lecturer for picture editing at the University of Applied Science in Dortmund. She has been a member of several international juries over the years and is regularly invited to international photo-festivals around the world.

Markus Schaden: In 1998, while still an apprentice bookseller, Markus Schaden opened the photo and design bookstore Schaden.com in Cologne. Since then, it has ranked among the best addresses for people interested in photography. Furthermore, he runs a publishing house of the same name that issues limited photography editions and special releases. His online portal regularly presents information on new photo publications. He also writes the Bookmarks column for Photonews. Since 2006, this acknowledged expert on photography books has worked as an editorial journalist for the international photographic magazine foam, which is published quarterly by the Foam_Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam. In each issue, the magazine presents the works of six artists, whose detailed portfolios are introduced in reference to a specific theme.
