A guide to 14 hikes perfect for children. These hikes start from flat, easy trails and progress into summiting Little O'Malley Peak. Each hike is suitable for children and lists the driving time from Anchorage, parking fee, hike distance, motivation for children (i.e., bridges, ponds, climbing trees), restrooms, if strollers are applicable, possible dangers, type of path (i.e., flat or hilly), and if it is seasonal. These hikes are not meant for parental fitness, but rather to develop the skills of your young hiker. There is a journal at the back for your child's notes and a checklist of hikes on the back cover!

About the Author
Lia Keller was born in Alaska and has been hiking with her two kids since they were born. She used to carry one on the front and one on the back along trails. The boys are older now and can carry their own packs. (I still pack special treats for tough climbs though!)
