Holliston
In 1999, the town of Holliston will celebrate its 275th anniversary, marking an important milestone in the development of this beautiful New England town. For many years, the Holliston Historical Society has maintained an extensive archive of photographs taken over the last century, and it is with great pride that the society presents this compilation of images as a significant contribution to the anniversary celebration. In its historic development of economic, religious, educational, and social institutions, Holliston has always maintained the small-town charm that is so appealing to residents and visitors today. In this work, readers will follow stone walls and trolley tracks to observe workers at the town's straw shop and at the boot manufacturing facility of F.A. Stone. They'll pass early residences on Washington Street and window-shop at J.W. Conger's dry and fancy goods store, taking in some impressive town views along the way. The walking tour of the town presented in this work will preserve images of Holliston taken between 1870 and the present day for generations to come.
