About the Author

First and foremost I am a father and a husband. We have 4 children and 3 dogs. In my professional life I am professor and chief surgeon at Herlev Hospital, a large public hospital attached to the University of Copenhagen. I was assistant editor for 6 years and thereafter editor-in-chief for 7 years of the Journal of the Danish Medical Association (www.ugeskriftet.dk) and the Danish Medical Journal (www.danmedj.dk). These are signature journals of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (www.icmje.org), and by that I served on the ICMJE for the 7 seven years as a chief editor. I am heading a busy research group and I have published more than 600 scientific articles in peer reviewed journals. I therefore have some background knowledge about scientific writing and I hope to be able to provide you with some tips and tricks so that your writing process will become easier.
