Once at the prison, surrounded by the vast ocean and untamed Australian bushland, the brothers dream of escape. Despite the perils of sharks and the unfamiliar wilderness, Thomas's resolve to protect Jem and find a way back to England never wavers. On the run, they must escape detection, which sets the stage for a dramatic escape.
