About the Author

Born in Washington, D.C., KD Hale spent much of her youth traveling the globe and playing sports. She attended Hood College, where she graduated with a B.A. in History and Art History. After more travel, living in several different zip codes and a few broken hearts, she settled in Frederick, Maryland. She became a Professional Firefighter, and eventually, a Paramedic. When her son Jack was born, she elected to become a full-time Mom. KD, Jack and husband Lenne currently reside, with their dog Isaiah, in the Historic District of Frederick. In her "spare" time, KD enjoys crossfit and competing in triathlons.
