Immortal Heart
Divided by the hand of fate, Ertz Mintz and Barcello LaVita find themselves on separate paths. Pledged to rescue Baron Bal Pouron's hostage son, Ertz returns to the north. His pilgrimage takes him through blowing snows and biting cold to Crestone City, home to the Legion, a mercenary brotherhood. With their support, if it can be had, he will make for the ghost city of Djarde. As his plans fall apart, Ertz finds himself alone facing death and destruction. To avoid being lost forever, he must find a way to nurture the dying embers of his own humanity. Barcello meanwhile, arrives in the Sunndr city-state of Altimacasa, where the reception is icy-cold. His hope is to coax the Sunndr from their isolation and to enlist them in the battle against the Wiccans. Creigshtane has not been standing idly by however and like his brother Ertz, Barcello must fight like he never has before if he is to survive. Little goes to plan for the pair, and even they cannot avoid tragedy forever. All is not doom and gloom though - romance blossoms and its entanglements make life all the sweeter and death the more poignant.

About the Author

A lawyer and otherwise respectable member of the community, Russell Davidson spent his teens and twenties crawling through spider-infested dungeons in search of experience points and magic potions. With his buddies at his side, armed with a pair of 20-sided dice, a sharp pencil, a character sheet, and a bag of junk food, Russell explored fantastical worlds while banishing hosts of baddies.

A fan of all things fantastical, time away from his role-playing friends was spent in front of a CRT monitor, dodging the Wizard of Frobozz while trying not to be eaten by a Grue.

Russell lives in Winnipeg, Canada with his wife, his son, and a very small but fierce dog named Pepper. A second son lives off at university, where he is largely someone else's problem. Russell spends his time running, reading, writing, and getting lost in the worlds of the Oculus Rift.

A talented public speaker, and fan of the oxford comma, he often lectures at the local law society and law school. He also writes scholarly articles and guides to assist other practitioners. None of which are in the least bit interesting.
