Susannah Stone could be the next Martha Stewart with her show At Home. Russ Donovan has an adventure show called Wild Man. Susie's producer, which is a friend of Russ', needs to give her show a little boost, so he teams them up together with a two show series called At Home In The Wild. She'll go into the wild with him and he'll come into the home with her. Can she survive climbing a mountain in freezing cold conditions with Russ to keep her warm? Even better, can he survive domestic life at home with Susie and her infant son? I loved it! Russ and Susie were brilliant! Susie was one tough lady, a wonderful mother, with a successful tv show. Her only problem was her shattered self confidence, compliments of her ex-husband. Russ also had some major issues relating to his deceased brother but Russ was a little better at hiding them. Billy was adorable and I don't think anyone could have resisted him for long. Received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Impulse Control was a very good read. Russ grew on me very quickly. At first I was a little taken back by his arrogance but then he became so much fun to get to know. And I love seeing his softer side. So sweet. And his continued use of her nickname he gave her - swoon! Susannah was a very strong independent single mother, which I love. Together they were a lot of fun with their banter and texting. And at the end I have go admit I had a swell in my heart area along with watery eyes. I love how they brought out their opposite parts of their personalities in each other. I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher.

One thing that I do know is I really like Amanda’s books. I really like reading where food comes into play in the story. All of Amanda’s books have that. Either it be the guy being a chef or the woman. From the very beginning Russ and Susannah are attracted to each other. Russ and Susannah don’t want to admit at first. But the attraction is strong. Both have their own TV show and are very different. Russ is the star of a reality show that’s something like Man VS. Wild. And Susannah has a home cooking show. More like Martha Stewart. And these two completely opposite people have too pair up and do a show together. Which, I found I really enjoyed watching these too together. I liked how Russ was with Susannah’s little boy, Billy. Russ really wasn’t the fatherly type, or so he thought. But add a little adorable boy and something’s change. Overall thoughts… If you enjoyed Amanda’s previoud books then, you will more than likely enjoy this one. Although it is a bit different than her other books. So, if your wanting a fairly short book, with a bit of steam, then this would be the prefect book. I really hope Holly and Adam get a book. Those two were heating up the pages along with Russ and Susannah.

Outlet for several emotions. I laughed, cried, oohed, and dreamt of Russ.

Russ Donovan is always up for an extreme adventure. He fearlessly faces the unknown. Until he meets Susie Homemaker aka Susannah Stone and her infant son. The network wants to film them working together in the other's area of expertise. This should be a rating winner. Can they survive without killing each other? Let the battles begin. I loved Russ and Susannah. These two were perfectly matched. Their attraction was both hot and humorous. I loved their snappy and snarky dialogue. Regardless of where they were, these two never missed a beat. Oh what a romance! This story had it all. There was love, laughter and deeply buried pain. I couldn't put this book down. I loved Amanda Usen's writing. She did a wonderful job creating characters that I cared about. I loved Wild Man and his woman. I wanted them to confront their fears and embrace love. I was just glad I could read it in my nice warm house not while hiking the Adirondack Mountains in winter

Such a fun read! I love the idea behind it--survivalist/daredevil guy and Susie homemaker go head-to-head, forced to take on each other's environment in front of an audience--so much potential! Add in fabulous characters and you've got a real recipe for a great story! (Pun totally intended) Both Russ and Susannah are strong characters. They start out as rivals (such an awesome troupe!), each sure the other couldn't possibly survive on their show and wanting to scrap the whole idea. They have some serious chemistry, though, and hidden strengths and talents that even they didn't expect. Soon respect gives way to something more...but can it lead to something lasting? Amanda Usen does a great job of pitting the two against each other, and then making us--and eventually them--believe that Russ and Suze have a real chance together. Suze's fourteen-month-old son Billy adds both comic relief and some truly adorable moments (be warned--the Russ/Billy combo might cause ovary combustion!), and Russ's use of social media had more than just Suze's heart melting.  Toward the end things got a little fast--Russ's resolution with his parents was fairly abrupt and almost too easy, and the real reason behind the Russ/Suze series collaboration was a bit of a stretch. Still, I couldn't find it in me to take off more than a half a star. I had a total blast reading this one, and am definitely looking forward to the rest of the series. Bring on more men of the zodiac; I'm ready for them! Rating: 4 1/2 stars / A- I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

We all have things in our past that haunt us and drive us in our lives. For Susannah it is the failure of her marriage and the things her ex put her through. For Russ it was the loss of his brother and the part he feels he played in it. Both are now rising stars in the network world. When the boss of the network thinks of merging their shows to boost ratings neither Susannah nor Russ are thrilled. Russ is the out doorsy type always looking for his next adventure while Susannah is the homebody her show is all about cleaning, cooking and taking care of your family. Never one to back down from a challenge they both accept. Russ finds himself insanely attracted to Susannah and is deter=mined to het past her ice queen act. Susannah knows Russ is trouble with a capital T from the moment she set eyes on him. Can these two actually become the savior for the other? With the heat that comes off of these two you could melt the polar ice caps! Will Susannah learn to trust again? Can Russ let go of the guilt and finally start living?

I am a fan of Amanda Usen and I continue to eat up her romance novels. In this story, she pairs Susannah, a lifestyle maven with Russ, a extreme sports star. Each has a tv show that showcases their talents.Their production company has planned a crossover challenge that each by placing them in unfamiliar situations: Susannah has to climb a mountain and Russ has to cook and clean for Susannah and her young son.  This book was funny, sexy and oddly endearing. I loved how each of the characters developed by learning from the other. I would gladly recommend  this to fans of reality romance, adventure romance, and romance in general.  I was given a  free copy for an honest review.

4.5 Stars! *I received a complimentary copy from the Publisher in exchange for an honest review* What happens when a Survivalist and a Homemaker are forced to make a TV show together? Great sex, a few laughs and a great romance, that’s what. Russ started out on the Network where Susannah has her “lifestyle” show. Now the network is asking for them to work together for “At Home in the Wild”. It’s safe to say none of them were happy about it. All the more, Russ and Susannah couldn’t be more different from each other and still both belong to the human race. So when they are forced on this show what comes out is not the best sportsmanship. But as usual opposites attract, or in this case, with the little time they spend together in each episode, they begin to realize that they weren’t actually all that different, and that they are very compatible in many, many ways. What I loved about this book was the characters growth throughout their time together. Even when both start as a bit of a cliché (him the super macho adrenalin junky and her… well, Susie Homemaker) they evolve mainly thanks to each other and the feelings that they evoke in the other. I found Impulse Control a very easy and enjoyable read. Their scenes together were really hot, I kept smiling at their banter and constant one-upmanship and melted when they were sweet to each other. In addition it touched on a couple of intense subjects apparently just in passing, but that gave a more “real” feel to the story and it’s characters. I’m definitely going to be looking for more from Amanda Usen, and I’m adding her to my “feel good read” favorite authors list.

4.5 stars Impulse Control was a fun, steamy and very entertaining read. Enjoyed the characters Susannah and Russ. They had amazing chemistry, loved how they both would challenge each other =) And seeing Russ interact with little Billy *swoon* Overall a great read and I highly recommend it.

Challenges outdoors and in in this fun book! A great story where supposed opposites attract. It shows how preconceptions can influence how people react and just how wrong these can be. This is a great read, I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be looking for other books by this author in future. Susannah Stone is an independent, single Mum, who stars in a popular TV show demonstrating how to be a homemaker now without her domineering ex-husband. Russ Donovan is also the star of his own TV show but his is about surviving in the wild. The TV company want to join the two together in a couple of special shows, “At Home in the Wild”. For Russ this could mean millions for the charity his family set up in memory of his brother whilst for Susannah is threatened by the producer should she not cooperate and take part in this. Neither expect the sparks to fly when they first meet! They’re in for an interesting time as he doesn’t believe she’ll survive mountain climbing and camping whilst she doesn’t think he’ll cope cooking in a small kitchen with her toddler running round! Cameras will follow their every move, will chemistry or catastrophe follow? Come on, you know you want to read this to see what happens! Thanks to the author and publishers, too, for letting me read a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was tons of fun and it came really super close to getting that 4th star. I loved watching Russ and Susannah interact, it was the perfect example of an opposites attract relationship. Their conversations were witty and their accidental touches sparked some seriously hot thinking. My favorite parts were watching them interact in each of their respective new environments. Susannah showed just how tough she could be hiking a mountin in freezing temperatures (you sure won't find me doing anything like that - I need warmth). This is when things really started for the two of them - in close quarters sharing a tent it was hard to to react to each other. I was a bit disappointed in her side of the show. While Russ got to take her into his environment for a few days, she only seemed to get a couple hours of "domestication" on her show with him. The story carries it a bit further outside of her show, but I really wanted to seem him try to cook and clean while chasing a kid around. Overall, this was quite fun. There is some silly social media and blog posts that really helped to bring their relationship to life. I just really wanted to see Russ cook asparagus. *This book was received in exchange for an honest review*

Originally posted on my blog: Tangled Up In Books I received a copy of this book, from the publisher, in exchange for an honest review. In no way did this sway either my review or my rating! Have I told you lately just how much I enjoy books where the main characters don't get along/have some sort of rivalry/are enemies before hand? It always cracks me up and puts a huge smile on my face watching two people with an obvious intense chemistry fight their feelings, and each other. Just reading that blurb let me know that I had to read this book and I did end up enjoying the storyline a lot! The characters were fun up to a point. Susannah had zero self esteem. Okay I somewhat take that back. When it came to her show At Home and cooking and being a mom she was full of confidence so I really enjoyed her in that aspect. It's just that part of her character's thing is that in her past she was really torn down from a relationship and made to feel unworthy and a failure in basically every other area of her life. And she's one of those women who will bend and reinvent herself to please others. I can't stand women like that. I always feel like shaking them and screaming have an opinion of your own!! But once I pushed past that she really was a fun character. Watching her grow and gain confidence. Russ, well, I took issue with him as well. I loved the fact that he was very alpha male. And there have been plenty of times in which a guy who is real cocky will crack me up and make me fall for him anyway but it was too in your face with Russ. Too much of the all-the-women-from-my-past-who-screamed-my-name-never-complained for me. And yes...he did say something very similar to Susannah at one point. He's actually such a great character. Very much a Bear Grylls type of a guy, has that type of a survival reality show going on. I loved everything about him except that one thing so he still made me swoon on more than one occasion! The plot was such a fun concept and it was executed really well. I loved the idea of someone who's very Martha Stewart like having to do a merged reality show with someone very Bear Grylls like. Seeing both Russ and Susannah try to live in each other's worlds made for lots of fun moments. Not to mention the oh so steamy ones. Holy chemistry Batman. These two have got it! I'm glad I gave this one a chance, very worth it in the end! Thank you Entangled Publishing for allowing me the opportunity to read and review this book!

This opposites attract contemporary romance is the story of Russ and Susie, two TV personalities who have vastly different shows. Russ headlines an outdoor wilderness adventure program, while Susie has a lifestyle show dealing with all things domestic. Ostensibly to improve Susie's show ratings, their boss has decided to have each of them crossover to the other's program. Despite their differences in approaches to life, there is an instant chemistry between them that is only heightened by their close quarters. But can single mother Susie convince Russ that home is where the heart is? I loved this story! Russ and Susie were both really fun, down to earth characters. Russ is the charming playboy, ready to take on any dare and thriving in his adventurous life - or so it seems on the surface. When confronted with Susie and her infant son, domesticated life extraordinaire, he finds himself inexplicably drawn to the idea of hearth and home, a scary proposition for him when all he's ever wanted was to push himself higher and farther in memory of his deceased brother. Susie is trying to balance her career and single motherhood after having been through a failed marriage. I really liked how her character became more adventurous and self confident as the story progressed and she was put into situations she would never have picked for herself. Equally I enjoyed how Russ dealt with things that were outside of his element, putting on his game face and making the best of situations. The sexual tension between them is high from the beginning of the story, leading to several steamy love scenes as they fight their attraction to each other. There were a lot of funny and entertaining scenes in this story as well as some emotional moments as Russ comes to grips with what he wants for his life and Susie goes after what she wants too. 5 stars for this delightful read!
