Overview

An unnamed young narrator in the midst of personal self-investigation writes down the thoughts that continue to preoccupy.

But when a set of phantasmal disturbances begin intruding upon a situation that puts one's sanity into question; an all-consuming interior quickly shifts to a reeling curiosity directed outside to escape.
The resulting spectacle and unfamiliar surroundings is of a village drenched in sand like snow, where it is reported the inhabitants are to be evacuated from a 'coming freak-storm'.

All inhabitants ask themselves: What now to do? The villagers begin to eye the narrator with suspicion, interest, and hostile questions; transferring their anxieties and concerns in conversation as they adapt to the realities of oncoming ruin, and that they must flee.

Considering life thus far, and prone to surreal exchanges on eclectic and philosophical matters, Internal Exile documents the author as a subject of study, a microcosm of societal breakdown, limits of identity, definition and 'I'; and the meaning of our experiences.
