About the Author

Brenda's creative spirit was recognized at the age of three. She found a bottle of Vicks vapor rub and a small paint brush, happily painting chairs, tables, and knickknacks. The menthol aroma filled the living room! In first grade she drew a picture of her mother that was entered in an art contest and displayed at a nearby mall with a big blue ribbon. Over the years, she continued to use her artistic ability in many ways. In her senior year of high school, she was voted most artistic female in her class. Some other outlets for her artistic expression have included serving as arts and crafts director at a summer camp, working as a Christmas tree designer, crafting backdrops for Vacation Bible Schools, and decorating for special events. Her new children's book, It All Started with a Pinecone, is her latest creative venture. She was inspired to write and illustrate it when, during a walk, she noticed pinecones scattered everywhere.
