Enjoyed the complex plotting and characters as well as the absence of unnecessary graphic sex scenes. One error, though, is disappointing; the song "Bless the Broken Road" was written by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in 1994 and covered by Rascal Flats in 2004.

I love It! I loved reading Honor and Zane's story. I loved how Tess describes the characters in her stories.

Loved all the books so far, just finished Jaded, the third. Cannot wait to read more about the rest of this family of friends. It reflects all of us that have our own family of friends, that's what life is. A circle, a circle of friends, family, love and hope.

Abandonment. Left by you mother because you weren't good enough. The wedding that wasn't because she ran off with the best man. Zane is jaded. Rejected by foster parents, sexually abused and a cancer survivor Honor has her own past that has her. . . jaded. These two have so much to battle through and when Honor gets threatened the Dogs all come out to protect. . . even Zane. Their troubles are put to the side but still the tension between them grows. Zane has plenty of sucking up to do and Honor, well she has some stuff to work through as well. The thing I love about these standalone read is the camaraderie of the guys. The women expand their special family and bring out the softer side of the guys but round out their crew nicely. The author does a great job of adding the suspense and keeps the energy high. It's a great read and a welcome addition to the series.

She has a way of telling a story with panache. The characters blend well, yet quite diverse. Can’t wait to read her next book in the series.

Another great read by this author. Zane and Honor have been building a love for each other for longer than they have actually been in love. This is finally their story, with a few twists and turns here and there. I like Zane in the two books before this one so it was wonderful to be able to get into his head and hear his story. It's not an overly sad one, but he's had enough of his own pain to add to his troubles. I feel bad for him that love from the people he wanted it from (minus his father) came hard and he had to deal with that harsh reality. But I'm glad that he found his HEA. I also loved the letter from his dad and that he already knew about his sister prior to the letter (you find out about her in Deleted). Honor has always been a wonderful character. I'll be honest and admit that she hasn't always been my favorite, but I did enjoy getting her story. She's a ball buster, and a good one at that. She's had a lot of pain in her life, pain that no one should have to go through. So I'm glad that she's finally getting that love that she didn't think she'd ever get. These two are wonderful together and I'm glad I got into their heads.

Jaded is an inspiration. Honor and Zane are not victims, but survivors. From ugliness blooms beauty. Tess Thompson shines a light on subjects that many choose to ignore. She tackles heartbreak with the strength and grace of a snowflake. The impact lives on, but never defines. There will be tears, but out of the sorrow is where the hope begins. Thus the healing power of love.
