About the Author

Marti Merrell comes from a family of storytellers with deep Charlestonian roots. She grew up listening to her father's tales around her family's dinner table about his childhood adventures with his twin brother in downtown Charleston, South Carolina in the 1940s. Although JellyBean is a work of fiction, it is inspired by her father's stories, intending to take its reader back to a simple way of life in a new generation's imagination of times long past and now only remembered by very few.Today, Marti lives with her husband, Mark, on a farm in Dandridge, Tennessee. The couple frequently visits her family in Charleston, where stories continue to be told and retold every evening at six o'clock sharp around the family dinner table.
