"Luke, it was just one night, that's all," Alex insisted.
"It was more," he said.
"It could be more still."
"No." She shook her head. "I can't. Don't you get it, you're a--"
He pulled her even closer. "A suspect. And that makes me off-limits. That makes it easier for you. You don't want to believe I'm innocent, do you? Because you'd have to deal with me on an emotional level."
She couldn't let him know what he did to her, how he made her feel.
"You know what's really getting to you?" He released her hand and touched her cheek. "I know your weakness, that you're not all bad-ass investigator." His hand slid to her neck, caressing it. His voice pinned her, mesmerized her, sent tingles of sensation along her spine. "I've seen the woman beneath--the one who feels passion, the one who feels pain. And you can't stand it. You're not upset because you think I'm guilty. You're mad as hell because you know I'm innocent . . ."

Age Recommended: Adult Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: 4 Book Blog For: GMTA Series: Rebels With A Cause #1 Review: "Just One Night" by Eve Gaddy was a good quick romance read with lots of drama and love scenes that were off the chart even though it was somewhat predictable. There will also be some suspense and lots of action. We find the hero Like Morgan was a former 'Navy Seal' but now an architect who was trying to rebuild his life and then he meets up with Alex Sheridan who was a investigative detective working on the Dallas Bomb Squad. These two will meet up at a convention in San Diego and end up spending a passionate night together and then they go their separate ways. However, three weeks late Alex is called to investigate the bombing of the building that Luke had worked on. Will Luke be a suspect in these bombings? This will be where this story really takes off and I say you must pick up the read to see what will happen as the story will continue and I am sure you will be somewhat surprised at the end. Would I recommend this one as a good read? YES!
Just One Night is a cute and quick little read. The story revolves around a bomb unit detective, Alex Sheridan and Architect, Luke Morgan. The two meet when Luke attends a bomb awareness seminar that Alex is speaking at in San Diego. Luke hits on her at the bar and the two spend a night together having crazy sex, but Alex leaves in the morning without a goodbye. Luke knows enough about Alex to know that they both reside in Dallas, but Alex is trying to forget the whole thing and has no idea he lives in the same city until a bomb detonates at a building Luke is working on. The sparks fly as Alex investigates the explosion and tries to resist her attraction to the main suspect in the case, Luke. She eventually can’t stay away from the man who’s been haunting her dreams since San Diego. The story is quick paced and does have a nice smattering of suspense thrown in as well. My issues with the story was that in real life, Alex would have NEVER been allowed to stay on that case. EVER. No matter what – if she wanted any of the evidence she worked on to hold up in court. Second, I was still confused as to why an architect was attending a conference on bombs, but whatever. The sex was steamy and there was a lot of it. If you want a quick little beach read, go check out Just One Night.

Dallas Bomb Unit Detective Alex Sheridan meets former Navy SEAL now architect Luke Morgan in San Diego, CA where she gave a speech on bomb awareness. I was supposed to be a one night stand. What Alex didn’t know was that Luke lives and works in Dallas too. That is until the building he is working on gets bombed and he is the prime suspect and Alex gets the case. The chemistry they felt in San Diego is bigger and hotter in Texas. Alex needs to find out who is framing Luke before she has to arrest him. This was a quick read. I couldn’t put it down because I needed to know Luke wasn’t guilty. I love the fact that this big strong guy has to depend on a smart, sexy woman to save him. It was a pleasant change from the alpha hero saving the “damsel in distress”.
