Just Right (Just Everyday Heroes: Day Shift, #1) by Erin Nicholas

He's a better-than-a-Boy-Scout, trauma surgeon extraordinaire. Who just punched a patient in the nose.

She's the director of the ER. And is now in charge of keeping her star surgeon in line until his suspension is over.

First order of business is prying his perfect ass off the bar stool… and keeping her huge crush on him under control. Except he refuses to move until she agrees to—and then loses—a bet for 48 hours of her undivided attention.

Okay, she can handle this. How much trouble could they possibly get into in two days? And how much could she possibly enjoy that trouble? And if he simply can't be her Knight-in-Shining-Scrubs anymore, well, then she can finally move on. Because she's not into bad boys. Anymore. Supposedly.

Great read. Well developed characters with a plausible plot that has conflict beyond the staged, will they end up together, of so many books that seem to run off the papermill. Great dialogue...witty and poignant. The imperfection of the characters make them perfect. Truly a great read!!!! This author has talent!

This is the first book in the Bradfords series and I cannot wait to read the rest. Erin has such a way of bringing her characters together that have you feeling like you’re right there with them. I did not want to put this book down until I was finished reading it.   Dr. Ben Torres is a surgeon at the same hospital where Jessica Bradford is an ER nurse and many people consider him a hero.  He’s been interested in Jessica for a long time, but one night while working in the ER has his temper getting the best of him, and it probably wasn’t the best way to get her attention. Punching a patient in the nose while treating them was a guarantee to a suspension and a possible law suit, so he figures that is a big strike against him in Jessica’s book. The suspension also has him thinking really hard about his career. Jessica has been working at a promotion for quite a while and the opportunity is finally within her grasp, but she didn’t expect the next part of her job for getting that promotion to be babysitting Ben to keep him out of trouble. Now, she has to try to hide her feelings for him so she can do her best to help him. He has turned to drinking and she has figured out that the only way to get him out of the bar is by agreeing to a bet that if she loses she will have to spend the next 48 hours with him and him alone.  She loses, and while she’s trying to keep him out of trouble things are not going at all as she planned, but they will have some great memories to think back on.

Okay, so what do you do if you have the hots for a certain nurse in your ER department, really simple. Punch a patient, get suspended, drown your sorrows in a bar and have her brother send her to pick you up. Now all thats left is for you to seduce her. Not bad, huh. Thats not exactly how the story takes place, yes all those incidents do take place but not because Dr. Torres or simply Ben willed them to. No, all of this takes place because life finally catches up with him and he realises he wants better things in life, better than saving the lives of reckless people who continue to endanger their own and others and lives as well. Jessica on the other hand wants everything to be perfect. She wants to make Ben realise that when he saves lives he becomes a hero and thats what she loves about him and what people love about him. They are forever grateful to him. But she needs healing as well and throughout the whole story these two characters heal each other in small but effective ways without even realising them. Both characters carry baggage that leaves them unhappy and pondering of what could have been. But all they need is each other and with each other they find true happiness and love. I really enjoyed reading this book. It was an e-Book which actually delayed my finishing the book faster. Recommended to all those who want a quick read and want to relax with some HOT scenes. Content: 16+ Profanities: many General opinion: the cover is amazing and the book is really nice

Jessica needs to help keep Ben out of trouble. He has decided he wants to give up being a doctor. Jessica knows he is one of the best trauma surgeons and can't understand how he can do that. Trying to convince him he is making a bad decision Jessica discovers that there is more to him then only his work. Ben develops feelings for Jessica and her extra people she helps. This is a cute romantic story where two people learn alot about each other. Couldn't but the book down. joy943

Trauma surgeon Ben Torres has had enough of patients who don't appreciate the hard work he puts into saving them. Too many people die and he doesn't feel like he's accomplished anything. He's crossed the line with a patient who's manhandling Jessica Bradford, the hospital's Director of Emergency Services and ER Nurse. Now Jessica is determined not to lose the best trauma surgeon in Omaha and the midwest. He's been suspended and planning to walk away from medicine altogether. This is the delightful story that starts the Bradford Family and friends series. Jessica is the oldest of three children. Her Sam is a paramedic and his best friends are the crew he works with. Jess's Dad was passionate about helping those in need and when he passed his children used his insurance money to fund a youth center to help kids in need and give them a safe place to be. The youngest Sara is the director of the center. Jess draws Ben to the center to help out and help heal his heart. Ben used to be a Doctor Without Borders in South Sudan. He has a heart for helping others he's just burned out and lost his passion. Erin has a way of putting people together and you just want to spend time with them. They sparkle right off the page. She also has a gift for giving you laugh out loud moments that will stick with you. I can't wait to see what the rest of the crew will find love.

One hot-headed surgeon can make the ER an interesting place. Jessica and Ben have never given into their attraction until he hit a breaking point now all bets are off. Ben's ready for a change in his life but is it a career change or love. Jessica has decided what to do continue to carry everything or have someone have her back and put a smile on her face.

This in not a cliffhanger. Erin Nichols wrote a multilevel story with an unusual storyline. I have endured doctor mandated bedrest for 2years, four months, and 20 days. I have averaged 5 books per week! That is about 550 books. In all of these books I have never encountered characters such as Ben, Kevin, Sara, Mac, or Sam. This story has whet my interest in her other stories with these charaters' lives. Ben was always a doctor. Each patient was someone to him. Each case mandated his total focus. Intense commitment to help people fueled his dedication as an ER Surgeon. Every loss was a personal loss. In the opening sequence he is brought in because a drunk driver plowed into a car where he killed children. Ben discovered that a month ago he had worked on the drunk driver who had been critically injured. If he had not saved the drunk, this canopy would have survived another day. Ben is done... Jess had a father who raised her and her siblings to give to others. As long as they had a roof over theirheads, clothes on their backs, and food on the table they had enough. Anything extra was given to others who had needs. Jess was young and sbe wanted to have fun without her father's restrictions. She moved into her own apartment and started to enjoy life. She had new things, and she was having a good time. Until thenight tried to stop ome punks from robbing her apartment. The tragedy of losing her father woke her up and she realuzed that she had to live a life that her father taught her because she was raising her brother and sister. For ten years she curbed any thought of life outside of ER and the community center her father had started. Herbrother was a paranedic and her sister headed the clinic. Jess was the person that people in her circle turned to when there was a question or a need. She lived rich a stoic life that people thought that she was someone who never took a wrong step. Ben is tired of wasting his time saving people who are not willing to live without the very things that brought them to ER iitially. Jess is tired of being the model of righteous living. She wants fun but nobody cares enough to get beyond her wall. Ben wants a life where life and dearh of othrrs do not depend on him. The story of Ben and Jess was a great way to enjoy a cozy nest in my bed while birds sing in the chilly autumn afternoon. I recommend this adult driven story.
