Ian Levine. These are not the real deals; they lack the production expertise and soulful feeling of his American-produced recordings.
Levine helped write some new material and re-recorded some of
Barnes' old songs like
"Sweet Sherry," "Please Let Me In," "Real Humdinger," and
"Our Love Is in the Pocket." A high cost for this 18-song compilation is ridiculous; it would be more palatable, considering its obvious weak points, if it were more reasonably priced. Listeners are advised to check out a CD of his original recordings and pass this one by. ~ Andrew Hamilton
