"No one had ever kissed her like Fionn. Like she was air. Life. Food and water all in one." Kiss of Vengeance is the second installment to S. Young's True Immortality series. Though it could be read as a standalone, I suggest reading the books in order as there is so much more information about Fionn Mór. Rose Kelly is lost and doesn't know her purpose in the world. She's been a nomad for sometime, never staying in one place for too long. One night at a nightclub in Croatia during her bartending shift she begins to sense trouble and feels someone is after her. Soon, she comes to face-to-face with Fionn Mòr, an ancient Fae who explains to her who she truly is and soon becomes her mentor; training her on how to use her abilities. Fionn Mór is briefly introduced in book 1 and getting the full force of this enigmatic being was spellbinding. You guys, he's so brooding and intense, and it's so sexy. Fionn is on a mission to slay Aine, the Faeire Queen and seek vengeance against her for putting him in purgatory. Little does he know that Rose is so much more than a weapon to get to the Fae Queen. Holy Moses! The banter and attraction between these two was palpable and I loved every single minute of it!! I couldn't get enough of this story and it's characters. I was swept away by the allurement of it all and constantly on the edge of my seat! These books are addicting and I'm ready to consume more!! Hands down, this is definitely a must read series if you're a fan of Paranormal Romance.

Fionn has been search for a special child that will allow him to see his revenge which is all he is loving for. Meeting Rose he finally has his chance. But fate has other ideas. Rose has been a drifter the last few years trying to find that missing piece in her life. Finding out she is Fae and one of the 7 special children was a bit of a shock as well as finding her powers. I love how Rose continues to show Fionn that life is with living and to let his hate goes. So loved these two. I am excited for the next book!

KISS OF VENGEANCE is the second instalment in S. Young’s (Samantha Young) contemporary, adult, TRUE IMMORTALITY paranormal, fantasy romance series. This is Fionn Mor, and Rose Kelly’s story line. KISS OF VENGEANCE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. Told from several third person perspectives including Fionn and Rose KISS OF VENGEANCE follows the once high king of Ireland Fionn Mor as he seeks revenge against the Queen of the Fae. Hundreds of years earlier, a then human Fionn was imprisoned by Aine, the Queen of the Fae. For six years our hero was forced into servitude and turned Fae against his wishes. Desperate for revenge, Fionn goes in search of one of the few remaining Fae on Earth, a Fae whose blood is the key to opening the portal to the land of the Fae. Enter Rose Kelly, a twenty-five year old woman who struggles with her place in the world, but a woman who is unaware of her supernatural heritage. What ensues is the back and forth, building relationship between Rose and Fionn, and the potential fall-out when Rose discovers the truth about Fionn, and his intentions towards the woman with whom he will fall in love. Rose Kelly has been spelled by powerful magic, and it will take an attack by another supernatural being to release the spell that has buried her magic deep and asleep. As she and Fionn flee across Europe in an effort to remain one step ahead of the werewolves and witches, Rose’s powers will manifest beyond anything anyone could have imagined. Fionn Mor has not been truthful about his reasons for ‘protecting’ our story line heroine, reasons that are selfish and potentially fatal for Rose Kelly. When the truth is revealed Rose pushes Fionn out of her life but Fionn struggles as he knows Rose is his mate. The $ex scenes are passionate and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. There is a large ensemble cast of colorful supernatural characters including Fionn’s best friend and vampire Brannigan aka Bran; Niamh and her brother /human Ronan Farren; powerful werewolf Kiya; numerous witches, warlocks, and magical beings; as well as the return of werewolf pack leader Conan and his mate Thea (War of Hearts #1). KISS OF VENGEANCE is a detailed and energetic story of secrets and lies; betrayal and revenge. The character driven premise is enchanting; the characters are numerous and dynamic; the romance is spicy but struggles in the face of secrets and lies.

Rose is such a vastly different character than Thea Where Thea didn't want the power or the immortality that comes from being Fae Rose absolutely lives for it She embraces the magic that is her new reality with an almost childlike reverence The easy way she confronts and overcomes each new hurdle at times had me cringing other moments I was laughing Then we have Fionn - I wanted to toss him from the parapet!! He could be such an idjiot at times! So bent on revenge he couldn't see past its cloying darkness to the light that was shining before him. He only needs one of the children to sacrifice. Sure he is sorry he will snuff out her light but her sacrifice will be for the greater good. Right? There were so many moments in this story where the smooth rhythm lulled me into a calm sense of success and accomplishment - They were going to make it work, everything would be okay - Only to suddenly jar me out of my happy state and toss me into a heart-pounding soul-shattering scene that upended everything I thought I knew How could she survive so many foes? Then the ending... Knowing now what lies ahead - Who may be the next to fall? The increasing impossibility to protect? I'm not sure I can wait.

‘Kiss of Vengeance’ was the perfect blend of paranormal, romance and suspense. From the very first page I was hooked to this book. The thing I like the most about this read is the way the two main characters Rose and Fionn, although they have paranormal abilities, the seem so normally human. I can easily imagine them being real people in the real world. Which made it easy for me to imagine their story to be real. And I just love that about S. Young, because she is able to do this every time. She really is able to create ‘real’ characters. Although I had to get used to this paranormal world again in the beginning, I didn’t mind not ‘getting’ everything at the start. I always had a fascination with the Faerie world, so I enjoyed getting to know the world of Fae again. The chemistry between Rose and Fionn is there from the beginning. And it was really amazing to read. Although there is chemistry, they don’t give in to it for a long time and it made for a perfectly long teasing and brewing romance. I loved it! There are some pretty hot and toe curling moments, and their romance simple made for a perfect story. Fionn was definitely my favorite character. There’s just so much more than meets the eye with him. I loved how strong, how determined and also how caring he was. And obviously his love of books is a big turn on! I mean really? He just had to be more perfect? LOL! Rose was also a fun character to get to know. She had been searching for something her whole life. This meant she travelled a lot, and she was just so brave about it. I wish I was as brave as she. Beside the romance, there was enough going on in this book to keep you hooked and sitting on the edge of my seat. There were several moments I really had to force myself to slow down and read every word. I just really wanted to know what was going to happen and almost found myself skipping words just to go faster. If that isn’t a sign I loved this book I don’t know what is. ‘Kiss of Vengeance’ is definitely one of my favorite reads. I loved it! And I can’t wait to read more books in this series. Especially now I have a clue about who the next story is going to be. Sigh..

3 1/2 Caffeinated Stars Kiss of Vengeance is the second book in the True Immortality series by S. Young. As many of you know, I'm a huge fan of Samantha Young & I thoroughly enjoyed War of Hearts. When I received this book in exchange for an honest review, I was extremely excited to dive into it, but it just wasn't my favorite. It had many of the elements I love, but at times it fell flat. This book was a slow burn with an enemy to lover trope feel. Unfortunately, it was indeed a slow burn. There was nothing more than one-sided flirting for over 50% of the book. When I'm reading a romance, I want it to be the focal point, and it didn't feel like a focal point until 70% into the book. Though the slow burn romance wasn't my favorite, I loved the world that S. Young created. The fantasy aspects were what kept me going. Learning about the fae & seeing their abilities kept me thoroughly entertained. I enjoyed seeing Rose learn her skills, and it was fun to see her interact with Fionn as her mentor. I do have to say that at times, her fixation on Fionn and flirting felt like her sole personality trait. I would have loved to see more of Rose's interaction with any character that wasn't a "hot guy." When Rose wasn't flirting, I loved her strength and determination. Her joy for her abilities was something I loved about her. Fionn was a complex character. I loved learning about his background & seeing his struggle. Even though I didn't enjoy the book as much as I liked, I'll be continuing on in the series. The fantasy and world-building were fantastic, and I can't wait to see how the rest of the series goes.

Following on from War of Hearts we have another stand-alone paranormal romance seeing another Fae sister take the spotlight. This time it’s Rose Kelly whose world is turned upside down when she learns the truth about herself. Not knowing who to really trust, she finds a connection with Fionn Mór, a larger than life being, determined to win her trust with his need to help her. Things are are hardly ever what they seem though. One thing I can say with complete honesty though, is that Rose is one of the good guys, she has nothing but the best intentions for Fionn. She is strong, passionate, and extremely loyal, doing the right thing, even when Fionn pushes all her buttons. A wonderful story. I have got to say I was a little discombobulated in the beginning, trying to remember names and relationships, but, it all came together pretty quickly once I got lost in the story, and I did get lost in it. I loved it, I breathed it. I did not want it to end. Fionn was the perfect alpha male protector, battling with his feelings in both the past and the present. I love how the characters are forming bonds from past books and dare I say for future books. I can’t wait to see where book 3 takes us. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.
