Noa A. Mills is a twenty-two year old student, educational reform and mental health advocate, author from Chester, Pennsylvania. She is one of five children born to two pastors and has used her educational journey from elementary school to high school classified as a gifted/talented academic student through testing, after attending 8 schools during the time because of a very customized academic track, starting college classes in the eleventh grade, teacher her first college class at 16, published her first book at 16, and having the opportunity to grown in many educational spaces at very young ages whether inside or outside of the classroom, as she brings us "Lessons Behind the Desk". Lessons behind the Desk is a wishlist if you will, or a list of things every student would wish their teacher took into account in their classroom for a better, more inclusive, community oriented, introspective and modernizing the approach to learning. There are lessons that we learn as students throughout our entire lives in front of your desk as an educator, and this time, the teacher is in the hot seat. Situations flipped, the student is now the teacher, and is giving their own lessons from behind her student desk.

She currently maintains an education reform platform at rethinkinc.org where she monthly gives insight, resources and curated content to teachers, parents, and students about how they all can have a hand in modernizing, revolutionizing and rethinking the "classroom" as we know it.
