Lilies for Daisy
Private First Class Reginald Harvard hates the army almost as much as he hates his friends, and the feeling is very mutual. He's been stationed on Ulysses Airfield in Birkinistan for the past six months and he still has another six to go. Surrounded by the same faces and personalities day in and day out, he's starting to go crazy. This all changes when the new private from Texas is assigned to his squad at the same time the enemy starts to throw their war machine into overdrive. But hidden beneath the yelling and anger lies a bond shared only by those who wear the uniform. A soldier's promise is to always stand by his brother, whether that be on the field of battle, back home, or in death. They call it warfare, but war ain't fair. Somebody isn't going to make it home. Is that all that a soldier is meant to be? Is it worth it?

About the Author

Jakob Becker was a 17 year old high school senior living in Encinitas, California when he published his first novel. He's been studying military science and psychology on his own time for almost 5 years at this point. He spent a year in the Civil Air Patrol, USAF Auxiliary and served as the cadet commander for his school's JROTC unit. He's been writing short stories for himself and Speech and Debate for 10 years, although he considers this to be his best work. Jakob hopes to one day complete a doctorate program to become a psychiatrist and work with veterans who suffer from PTSD and depression.
