Lewis Frobisher is a man with a colourful history.
Raised on the streets of London under the reigns of the Stuarts, he finds employ as a cabin boy aboard His Majesty's Ship Lion following a series of incidents at his almshouse in Cripplegate. As the experiences at sea become more hazardous with the growing threat from the Kingdom of France, Lewis is pulled into a devastating war spanning the whole of Europe. Betrayal and hardship seem to rear their ugly heads at every turn, forcing Lewis into some dire circumstances.
