About the Author

Kathleen Petryshyn graduated from the University of Illinois in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. She has spent her life as an educator, teaching children and adults of all ages. Her early teaching career included teaching in public schools, Head Start, and Adult Education Programs in both Kentucky and Illinois. She created a Department of Education in the Kentucky State Mental Hospital and ran a Montessori Teacher Education Program and a Montessori School in California. At one time Kathleen was a Holistic Health Practitioner, Polarity Therapist and studied energy medicine and integrative therapies. Most recently Kathleen has worked as a Postpartum Doula offering non-medical education and support for parents of newborns and as a Licensed Simply Music Piano Teacher.

Additionally, Kathleen is an educated and trained public speaker. She is a Dale Carnegie graduate and former Instructor. Having been a teacher for over 40 years, Kathleen delivers her subject matter in an interesting and enthusiastic style. Her ability to bring the characters in Wake Up Mother Goose alive both charms and delights her audience.

Kathleen raised two sons and now has three grandchildren. Kathleen has dedicated her life to the growth and development of children of all ages. She combines her knowledge of the developmental stages of children with her understanding of energy and integrative therapies to effectively work with people of all ages in her unique transformational style. She helps people to listen to their inner voice, that child within and to then connect deeply within themselves.

Wake Up Mother Goose has been developed from Kathleen's experience as a child, mother, grandmother, teacher and educator. Her experiences makes her immensely qualified to teach us all the inner mysteries of the child within. Kathleen opens her heart and invites the reader or listener to explore their own inner child in a way that is delightful and fun as well as educational and profoundly transformational.
