Set in Corsica and France in the year 1841 and narrated in first person by Alexandre Dumas himself, this book tells of his experiences on a trip to that island, where he meets Lady Savilia and her son Lucien, who tells him that he has a twin brother named Louis. Siamese twins that have since been separated, the brothers’ union is forever maintained, making one feel the pain of the other and vice versa, regardless of the distance separating them.

What People are Saying About This

From the Publisher

"Historians should read Dumas, the best ones probably do; it would not be difficult to guess at the probability that their books had been nurtured from fantastic, imaginative, agile novels, but novels not without foundation, which Alexandre Dumas wrote for so many years."  —Julián Marías
