Specialiste de l'oeuvre de Leibniz, il a consacre ses recherches a l'histoire de la philosophie a l'age classique, de Descartes a Kant. Il a publie notamment Science et metaphysique dans Descartes et Leibniz (Paris, 1998) et Descartes en Kant (Paris, 2006). Contributor Biography - French Sophie Roux est professeur d'histoire et philosophie des sciences a l'Ecole normale superieure. Elle a publie notamment Thought Experiments in Historical and Methodological Contexts (Leyde, 2011), La Mathematisation comme probleme (Paris, 2011), L'Essai de logique de Mariotte (Paris, 2011), L'Automate.
