Eric Conger's narration flows smoothly from scene to scene, and at the end he takes the story through a unique twist. In this sixth Virgil Flowers mystery, three teens set out on a murder rampage. Though Flowers seems to be one step behind the trio all the time, the chase throughout the book is exciting listening, thanks to Conger. As the body count rises, listeners will wonder how the teens can kill at the blink of an eye. The real surprise comes at the conclusion when listeners learn more about Flowers's thinking and sense of justice than he has revealed in his previous adventures.
