About the Author

Mary Baca Haque grew up in the northern suburbs of Illinois with her nine brothers and sisters. She currently resides in Jalisco, Mexico, with Khalila (14), Khyaam (13), and her husband of fourteen years. Her children and a very diversified life inspired her to write a series of stories that, "not only capture a young imagination but also teach of diversity and acceptance in the animal world, as we have in the human world."

Francisco Lancaster-Jones, teaches such subjects as Cultural Shock, World History, Translation, and Lexicography at the graduate program of Translation and Interpretation at the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara. He has translated the Oxford Children's Encyclopedia as well as numerous technical books. At UAG he has been Assistant Director of International Programs, Director of the Center for Canadian Studies, and Director of North American Mobility Programs.

Emily Cornell du Houx studied art at Amherst College and now teaches at the Rhode Island School of Design.
