**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Marissa is 30 years old and works for Slate Investigation. Jack Slate is 35 years old and is her boss. She has fantasized about him since she went to work for him. Marissa left the orphanage at 18, but has worked for Jack for the last 3 years. Marissa had a dream about a hooded man that was very threatening. Marissa had a vision when she held her baby blanket that the nuns had saved for her at the orphanage. Marissa told Jack about everything that was happening. Marissa almost got mugged while walking home one night. She thought it was Jack that had saved her when it was actually one of her new abilities. Marissa had a vision that Jack would get hit and killed. After her warning, Jack was very cautious and it saved him, proving her visions are true. She gets attacked again and the thug tells her she's a witch. Marissa and Jack then go back to the church to talk to the priest and Sister Frances and find out about her family. Sister Frances gives her information to start looking. I found Jack to be very protective, especially as he discovers his feelings for Marissa as the book goes on. He always listens to everything she has to say and tries to help in any way he can. Marissa doesn't really know what to think about these powers as the come and is initially scared of them. She finds it hard to believe that Jack has feelings towards her. She fears for him the more he helps her as they try to figure out what's happening. I sympathize with Marissa as all these changes and powers come into her life. I was happy she had Jack by her side to help with it all and to protect her. I enjoyed the book and recommend it.

To say that Marissa is having a weird day would be an understatement.  The dream that jarred her awake was frightening and seemed more like a memory than a dream.  The hooded figure looming over her put off such a sense of evil that the remnants of the nightmare stayed with her long after she left her bed. While in the shower trying to shake off the odd dream, the second weird moment of the day appeared – right outside of her shower curtain.  Shortly after getting herself soaking wet, Marissa realized with annoyance that she forgot to bring a towel in with her.  Imagine her terror when a dark shape slowly moved toward her.  She could see its outline through the shower curtain and was ready to defend herself from… a blue towel hanging in the air, with nothing holding it up. That’s enough of a tease.  Because the unexplained magic just keeps happening – and how Marissa’s life is about to change is the point of the novel. Magic Found is a fun and sexy story about  a woman who has no knowledge about her family – she was left on a church doorstep as a babe.  It is her discovery about how she ended up on those steps, where and who her family are and how the heck did the magic start? Her crush on her boss Jack will turn into romance while they both search for answers.  Some steamy sex scenes, relatives found and mysteries somewhat solved and new mysteries revealed will be discovered before the last page of this novel.  (the first book in a new series, so look for more stories) I enjoyed Magic Found.  It will not go on my top favorites list – but it was a good story.  I wish though that there had been more showing me the action from the characters point of view or engagement rather than telling me about it.  But that is a personal preference of mine in the stories I read. There are three other novels in this series.  I will probably read them, eventually.  I’d like to know the rest of the story to see how it develops.  But with my current reading list, that may be a few months down the road. Would I recommend it?  Yes, it’s a good story.  It’s just not a great, “you must read this now” kind of story – in my opinion.  Your’s might be very different.  I just wanted a bit more from the novel that I didn’t find.

Magic Found by Misha McKenzie is a wonderful paranormal romance book. On Wednesday Marissa Spencer (the nun who gave her the last name loved Luke Spencer on General Hospital) is a normal 30 year old. She works as an assistant to private investigator, Jack Slade, and she was raised in an orphanage. On Thursday after waking up from a bad dream weird things start to happen to Marissa. She remembers after she got into the shower that she forgot her bath towel and the next thing she knows there is a towel floating outside her shower. And that is only the beginning. Marissa finds out that she has special magical abilities, a brother, cousins, parents, and someone out to kill her and steal her powers! Marissa also finds love with the man she has been lusting after for three years. Read all about Marissa’s adventures in love and magic in Magic Found. I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley/Publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Are you kidding me with this? I barely got through five pages before I logged off Amazon and picked up a dictionary to regain some IQ points I lost by reading this garbage. At the request of a friend (more like a dare), I searched for this "book" online and regrettably read a few pages; that's all I could stomach. Like Marissa, I also had nightmares, and it wasn't from the pepperoni and jalapeno pizza I ate before bed! This is just downright awful! During college, I worked as an instructor for a young writers camp, and I've seen better pieces of work come from sixth and seventh graders. These other reviews were either written by the author herself, her friends/family, or by folks who have no literary standards or grasp of the English language. I'll never get those ten minutes of my life back.

I loved the Marissa and Jack characters, they are great together. I can't wait for the next book in the series to come out. I will recommend this book to all my friends and family!

New author, what a interesting book!  I had heard soon wonderful comments about her book so I sat down to read it and can't seem to put it down!  Love the romance that she has included!  I look forward to the rest of the series.
