About the Author

Donald C. Adkisson was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado. He met his wife, Annie Baker, while attending Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri. Following six years of service in the U.S. Air Force he began his career in education. He earned his Master's degree from Northern Kentucky University.
After begin involved in education for thirty-nine years as a teacher, coach, and administrator he recently retired, and moved from San Antonio, Texas where he spent twenty-two years at a Christian school. Currently he lives in Cleveland, Texas and is planning on building a home in Coldspring, Texas to concentrate more on his writing.
Since 2001, he has written a daily devotion, titled, "Echoes From the Campfire." He is the author of one previous novel, The True and Unbiased Life of Elias Butler. He also has published a devotional book titled, Trails in the Wilderness.
He has been married to Annie for forty-six years. They like to travel this vast, wonderful country. He enjoys traveling to places so he can get a "feel" of what it might have been like for those people who went there before us. Both he, and his wife, are avid readers. They have two daughters and four grandchildren.
