Overview

Before finding his calling as an American LGBT author, he got his start as a ghostwriter. Darrell has ghost written projects for renown Psychiatrist and outpatient mental health practices in the Houston area, including B.E.S. Group and Associates, Mosaic Magazine and Tranquility Behavioral Health Clinic. Currently, he sits as the Senior Medical Writer at Tranquility Behavioral Health Clinic, in Kingwood Texas. He has been writing for as long as he can remember, having written his first book at age 12. It wasn't until his freshmen year in college, that he realized that his love for writing could also be turned into a career. I spent most of my time conjuring up stories and wishing I could be writing rather than studying. I realized that I chose the practical route out of fear. Somewhere along the line, I decided not to let fear keep me from finding my happiness and did what was best for me." Darrell went on to major in creative writing at the University of Houston-Downtown. He got his start as an Urban Lit ghostwriter, but is now ready to write whatever story he wishes to tell. After 3-years of determination, "Manstress Diaries" is the first story to carry his name.

Wow! What a story! I had the opportunity to read this book before its release. As a mental health professional, I found this book is so much more than the sex and scandals. This is a story of about addressing the issue of professionals in the mental health field that are often in need of help themselves.

This a very prevalent issue within the mental health professional community, as we often feel enormous pressure to appear more stable and together than we really are capable of being. We are human and we are not perfectly in control of our emotions and able to cope with our own traumas at times. It also depicts the effects of stress in relationship to the daunting task of being held liable for another human being's life. It also addresses the importance of family, and accepting accountability for past mistakes.

Khai, a novel therapist, results to promiscuous and impulsive behaviors as a result of being unable to cope with the tragic way in which he loses his father and looks for relief within a man, who is no better off than he is when it comes to emotional and mental stability. JUST WOW! Great debut! I cannot wait to read more.

Exceptional! Well Written. I loved the confessional style in the writing. It's like reading a real diary, allowing us to feel the character's more cherished moments and what later leads to us feeling the heartbreak. The "Past Due" letter was raw and honest. Khai (the protagonist) Confronts these unsaid feelings that have led to much chaos throughout story, finally without holding back. This story is very personal and artistic! The relatable stories are always the most remembered to me!
