Mechanics: From Theory to Computation: Essays in Honor of Juan-Carlos Simo

This volume contains a series of papers invited by the Journal of Nonl inear Science Editors, and dedicated to the memory of Juan-Carlos Simo , one of its original editors. The articles are largely in areas of sc ientific interest of Professor Simo, including mechanics, geometry, ap plied dynamics, and computation. Juan-Carlos Simo did not see boundari es between computation, mathematics, mechanics and dynamics, and cross ed these boundaries with extremely high quality and productive interac tions. This volume aims to capture some of that spirit.
