Memorabilia Mixtape
This book serves as a demo album showcasing poetry tracks about a Gen-X childhood in American suburbia. The 1980s and 1990s generated a scatterplot of emotions and concrete experiences for the author. A sampling of these heart-songs have been gathered in a bundle and tied loosely with a jump rope.

About the Author

Amanda Giles runs a magical school library near Portland, Oregon, where she lives with her family. She started writing poems in elementary school. She has long been fascinated by what makes others tick and what makes people talk. As such, the emphasis of her university studies was Human Development with a minor in Communications. After 20 years of guitar teaching, Giles returned to the life laboratory of a primary school. She co-explores stories and poems with her students and encourages them to practice turning their own phrases. She recharges via nature parks, music-making, and photography. Her work can be found in other publications including an anthology titled Poets Speaking to Poets: Echoes and Tributes.
