About the Author

Carolee Clausen dreamt of writing a book that would be told to her younger generations for years to come. She chose to write about her hometown and bring light to the history of Seattle's early development, adding a touch of fantasy turned legend with a dragon named Mog. A historical site in Seattle known as Gas Works supplied gas and lighting to the whole city in the early 1900's, and rests on the shore of Lake Union as a park to celebrate its industrial heritage. Her story is dedicated to this history, the lives of those in this period, in admiration of Asian culture, and her love of storytelling.
