Overview

Moon Shimmers (Sisters of the Moon Series #19) by Yasmine Galenorn

We're the D'Artigo sisters: savvy half-human, half-Fae operatives for the Otherworld Intelligence Agency. My sister Delilah is a two-faced werecat and a Death Maiden. Menolly is a vampire married to a gorgeous werepuma and a vampire prince. And me? I'm Camille, a Moon Witch married to three gorgeous husbands, and I'm about to ascend to the throne of Dusk & Twilight. But the path to the throne lies through a labyrinth of dangers, which I must face alone...

Before I can fulfill my destiny to become the Queen of Dusk & Twilight, I must seek out the Keraastar Diamond. But to find the magical gem and take control over the Keraastar Knights, I must venture back to Otherworld, deep into the treacherous Tygerian Mountains. Once there, I face a magical trial by fire. If I fail, the chance to stop Shadow Wing will fade with me. If I succeed, my life will forever change. And I'm not certain which prospect frightens me the most.

You can tell that Yasmine enjoyed writing this one more than the last few in the series. I enjoyed reading it more. If you were an Otherworld then dropped off after a bit, I would highly recommend jumping back in here. I'm looking forward to the the last two books!

Moon Shimmers is Yasmine Galenorn's 19th Otherworld/Sisters of the Moon Series. Moon Shimmers was an emotional read for me, I put off reading it, then put off reviewing it, due to those emotions. The Series is winding down, and this is Camille's final full-length novel. Of course she will be in future stories, but it won't be the same. And I think Camille is my favorite sister. Camille is destined to be Queen of one of the Earthbound Fae nations, and coronation is coming up, just as the search for the Spirit Seals and the Kerastaar Diamond is coming to a head. How much more loss can the sisters take? This book was wonderful, and a great tribute to the culmination of Camille's story. Absolute must read.

***I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*** One of the last three in the series, and it was wow. The storyline was slow at first but kept me on the edge of my seat. A lot of emotions definitely went through me from a sour goodbye to an "awww good ending". I always loved the world Yasmine creates and the places we get to go in this book are pretty fascinating. I am definitely looking forward to the end of this long storyline. It's 19 books in the making soon 20 and 21. I would definitely recommend this book especially if you have read the first 18. This will not disappointed you and will be worth the read.

I received a free copy of this book and this is a voluntary review. This is a fantastic book. Galenorn is a masterful storyteller. She takes the reader through a myriad of emotions. You'll rejoice with the characters, laugh with them, be annoyed right along with Camille, and cry with them too, especially if you're a fan of the series like I am. The series may be almost over, but the characters are still growing. It's been wonderful reading about the sisters growth from the cast aside, unsure witches who were sent Earthside to the strong, amazing, fearless women they are now. As always, I wish I was a character in Galenorn's world. Moon Shimmers is fitting way to end Camille's story.

****I Received a free copy of this book and this is a voluntary review.**** This is the first in the last set of books in the series. I must admit, it was sooo bittersweet and final as I closed the last page of my electronic copy. Camille has always been my favorite and not just because she's a witch. It is because she reminds me of myself back in my 20's and moving on to now in my late 30's. We met this wonderful woman who was so sure of her duty, her family, but yet so vulnerable and unsure of her place in her mother's world. Her magic was never really reliable, she had a hell of a lot of insecurities and she would never show it either. Untouched and Untamed and wild with passion when it came to her lovers. In the series, we saw how her life turned upside down and caught in a war for which none of the sisters wanted a part of. All the other stories where simply preparations, for this last book. Camille is about to ascend the throne of the Court of Dusk and Twilight. She has grown in her magic, finding that she too had a place in the world. Her magic was never meant to be with the full moon, but the dark moon side of the Goddess. And this last book shows just what she will be capable of in the future. Her task takes her back to Otherworld in a fight for the Kerrastar Diamond. But not before she finds the last of the 9 pieces. Trouble is, would you put the worlds back together? Or fight to keep them apart? There are a few hidden gems in this book that really did surprise the hell out of me. Some surprises, I wasn't fond of either like the character. But duty calls!! Now that Camille has taken her pre-destined role as Queen and High Priestess of Earthside fae for the Moon Mother, the battle with Shadow Wing is set in place. Breathe my peeps, we still have two books left...and then we can all commence with the tears.

OMG!!!! What a way to end Camille's personal adventure!!!! I laughed. I cried and a couple of times I wondered what in the world was going on. Before I read this one, I reread all of the books in the series and it gave me a complete understanding of what Camille has truly gone through to get to this moment. As always, her 3 glorious husbands and her extended family are at her side as she completes her final tasks to become what and who she was born to be. I wish I didn't have to wait until next year for Delilah's final book but until then I will reread this one over again until then. Well done Ms Galenorn!!!!

I admit I wavered but I'm glad I bought this book. If she can actually focus on them as separate books .Maybe the series will pick back up but the real test will be Delilah book if it's another throw away I will be done with it.
