About the Author

Judith Kay Hall, born Shirley Ann Goff, began her journey in Walls, Mississippi, on March 6, 1939. Due to the actions of Georgia Tann, her birth certificate was altered to reflect a different date—February 6, 1939. At just nine months old, she was delivered to her adoptive parents in Alma, Michigan, with her new name and identity. Growing up, Judith celebrated her birthday on February 6th, only to uncover the truth about her origins 40 years later when she reunited with her biological family and saw her original birth certificate for the first time.
Judith pursued her education with dedication, graduating from high school in Park Forest, Illinois, in 1957. She continued her studies at Northern Illinois State in 1958 before earning her degree from Moser Secretarial School in 1959. Armed with a strong background in secretarial work, she mastered shorthand at an impressive 120 words per minute, typing at 95 words per minute, and became proficient in bookkeeping, PBX machine operation, and Dictaphone transcription.
Her career was marked by excellence in customer service and administrative roles. She began her professional journey at Mark Brothers Jewelers in Chicago, Illinois, and went on to receive recognition from both Sanitrol Security and Canon Copier for outstanding sales and service. Throughout her career, Judith’s dedication, attention to detail, and ability to connect with others distinguished her in every role she undertook.
Now residing in Conroe, Texas, Judith’s life is a testament to resilience, discovery, and perseverance. Her story serves as an inspiration, highlighting the unexpected turns life can take and the strength found in uncovering one’s true identity
