Mesmerizing and Fascinating Scottish romance! 7 stars I was so mesmerized by this Scottish romance, that I finished it in one day! As soon as I started reading MY NOTORIOUS HIGHLANDER written by Vonda Sinclair, I got captivated into her story so much, I could not put it down and wanted to know what would happen next. This author is a high quality writer who knows how to pull you in her story with words flowing. Breathtaking adventure of a beautiful heroine and an alpha hero that will leave you wanting more! Sexual intensity that keeps you reading! I devoured this book! I loved the beautiful chemistry between her two main characters Torrin MacLeod and Jessie MacKay. Castle Dunnakeil, Loch Shin, Scotland June 1619. Torrin, Chief of the MacLeod, decides to go to Durness with one reason in mind, meet the beautiful and independent Jessie, who was haunting his dreams, to ask her hand in marriage. But having been turned down once, he decides that he will have to gain her trust. The elders of his clan, wanted him to marry and sire an heir. But, Jessie had been in a trial marriage with a man named MacBain, three years earlier and had returned shattered and traumatized, not wanting to trust any men. This bad man only wanted to wed her to gain access to her lands in her dowry. Torrin has strong feelings for her and wants to protect her from this mad MacBain. He will do everything in his power to keep her safe and to gain her trust. Jessie feels that Torrin is a notorious warrior and she does not trust him because of something she witnessed when she was young. But she could feel the attraction to this gorgeous man! In the meantime, MacBain, comes back in her life to ask her in marriage! Both men want her but for different reasons. Who will win her heart? Jessie’s brother Haldane is a murderer who wants to become chief of the MacKay Clan and MacBain wants her back as his wife. Other members of the MacLeod and MacKay will united to protect Torrin and Jessie. And slowly, she will trust him, desire him, let her guard down and love him. She felt mesmerized with all that love making with such tenderness and passion! The more they were together, the more she desired him. Ah! That Highlander charm did it again! The author skillfully blended passion and suspense and weaved her characters into her story. It’s fast-paced and highly addictive! The inflamed love scenes are very well written and filled with passion. I loved the scene on the beach, when Torrin tried to get Jessie to trust him by making love to her! The perfect alpha male hero who uses his charm with the woman he wants! He is a sexy highlander who is willing to wait for her! Torrin always got what he wanted. Will their love survive? Will he keep her safe? Will she let go of her fear? Will their dreams come true? If you are a fan of Scottish romances, then it is the perfect book for you. Let yourself be carried away by this fascinating Scottish love story! I highly recommend My Notorious Highlander!

Audiobook Review: Chief Torrin MacLeod is the kind of handsome, kind, loyal, knows-what-he-wants man, a most swoon-worthy chief. He has a problem. The lassie he has set his heart on, shoots daggers at him when she’s obliged to look his way. I must admit, Torrin wouldn’t give up. He’d been thinking about Jesse since he last met her, seven months before. Even though his best friend, her brother Duncan, denied his request to court and marry her, he wouldn’t give up. He probably shouldn’t have shown up at the Keep with Chief Gregor MacBain, previously hand-fasted to the lovely Lady Jessie MacKay. Jesse paints men with the same paint stroke as she experiences with Gregor. Not married, yet hand-fasted, to a man she learned to love, ended up rather bad when he decides three months into the hand-fasting, she wouldn’t do, since he finds another which took his fancy AND quickly is with child. But Laird Torrin and Gregor MacBain travel the same direction toward Durness. Torrin knew of Gregor’s intent to re-win Jesse’s hand, since his wife had died after previously birthing him an heir. Laird Torrin’s need to protect what he knew to be his, forced him to travel with Gregor. When they arrive, Jesse is ready to throw both of them out of the Keep, but she relents with great reluctance. Not providing hospitality to a traveler is most improper. Jesse sees the danger of these two men vying for her, but is little aware her younger brother, Haldane, is convinced he should be the new chief of the clan and intends to do what he must to make it happen. He is most unsavory and teams up with other unscrupulous highway men. Where will the greatest danger come from for Jesse? McBain, MacLeod or her own brother? I always enjoy what Vonda Sinclair writes. Dave Gillies, with his character impersonation enhances the stories Sinclair writes. He has a great singing voice and quite flexible with women's voices. He adds that extra intensity to the listen through his perfected voices, sentence cadence and depiction of character emotion. This particular listen I did in one day. It was fast-paced, suspenseful and a total delight to listen to.

I spent my week vacation relaxing and reading Vonda Sinclair’s entire Highland Adventure series :) I love how she writes her characters – she is able to weave depth, emotion, love, and despair masterfully throughout her books. She can also set up a great scene – I almost feel like I’m in Scotland, right in the middle of all the action. Vonda’s books start out with action, and that easily draws me in. Sometimes when starting a new book, I am bored in the beginning, but this is definitely not the case with this author! If you’re on the fence about whether or not to read this book, go ahead and take a chance – you won’t regret it :)

A very good read. Again Ms. Sinclair uses her gift of writing romance in that witty, humorous, and suspenseful way of hers. Lady Jessi Mackay is spirited and feisty and very pretty. She is watching over her home while her other brothers are away. During this time Torrin McLoed is Lord over his home and is interested in Marrying Lady Jessi. Her younger half-brother is conniving and trying to set her up with Chief McBain, a former person she was hand fasted with for year and terrorized and traumatized while in McBains possession. Jessi tries to avoid both men Torrin and McBain. Torrin, because of what she witnessed when she was fostered out to another family. And McBain because of his cruel nature. The many difficulties and challenges Jessie and Torrin experience as well as their growing passion kept me reading and made it difficult to put the book down.

Well done.  Fast paced.  But then again, they were already introduced in the previous books.  I love the characters Torrin and Jessie.  Torrin was besotted with Jessie from the very start but somehow, it didn;t diminish his "maleness".  Jessie was strong willed and knows what she wants.  There was a part where I want to shake some sense into her but her choices are understandable. Read this.  I'd say, it is the best in the series.

Wonderful, romantic, love story set in Scotland with hunky Scottish men who are both tender toward their women and ruthless towards their enemies. Great historical fiction that you won't want to put down. Part of a series, and ALL are fantastic, romantic, escape reads. I loved it!
