Navel String
Resonating with the rich imagery of Caribbean life, politics, and social history, this latest collection of poetry from Adrian Augier is a poignant and faithful exploration of the human condition across several generations at home and abroad. Navel String is passionate, personal, and disturbingly prophetic as it delves into issues of identity, equity, ownership, and relevance against a background of irrevocable change in the physical and psychological landscape of St. Lucia and the wider Caribbean. For more than three decades, Augier’s work has been chronicling an evolving Caribbean culture, sometimes in jubilant celebration, sometimes with a deep sense of loss.
