About the Author

Tr?nh Y Thu was born in 1952 in Hà-N?i. Since 1984 he has been active in the literary circle within the Vietnamese diasporas, regularly contributing poems and short stories to leading literary magazines. In the early 90’s he became Editor-in-Chief of Van-H?c (Literature) magazine. He is the author of several books including poetry, short stories and essays. He is also a translator who introduced to the Vietnamese public several works by the renowned writer Milan Kundera, amongst other classics such as Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë, and A Room of One’s Own by Virginia Woolf. Hitherto Ðu?ng v? th?y ph?, a novel, is his tenth book. Currently, he is running Van H?c Press, a publishing house devoted to literature. In his spare time, he enjoys playing the classical guitar.
