Non-Obvious 2019: How To Predict Trends And Win The Future
Wall Street Journal Best Seller Finalist: The AMA Leonard L. Berry Book Prize Winner: The Eric Hoffer Book Award (Business) Winner: INDIE Gold Medal Book Award (Business)

How are a men’s grooming brand and frustrated "stuck-at-work" dads leading a revolution in masculinity post #MeToo?

What can the decline of a global lingerie brand and corporate hackathons teach us about how fear can stifle innovation?

How does hiring "neuro-diverse" workers and creating empathetic shampoo bottles signal a dramatic shift toward compassion in the workplace?

For the past 9 years, marketing expert and Georgetown UniversityProfessor Rohit Bhargava has curated his best-selling list of non-obvious trends by asking the questions that most trend predictors miss.

In this all-new ninth edition, discover what more than a million readers already have: how to use the power of non-obvious thinking to grow your business and make a bigger impact in the world.

In total, the Non-Obvious 2019 edition features 15 all-new trends across 5 categories including Culture; Consumer Behavior, Marketing; Social Media, Media & Education, Technology; Design plus Economics; Entrepreneurship. The book also features a detailed section with a review and rating for more than 115 previously predicted trends, with longevity ratings for each.

As with the original version, this new edition of Non-Obvious also delves into the curation process the author has used for years to build his Trend Reports and takes readers behind the scenes of trend curation (much to the delight of past readers who have been asking about this for years), and show them the methodology they can use to predict the future for themselves.

About the Author

Hi, I'm Rohit Bhargava. I write business books to help organizations and leaders be more influential. A big theme in my books is how to do business in more human ways and why it matters. My signature book is Non-Obvious which is released every year with 15 new updated annual trends and a guide to the power of non-obvious thinking. The world today is filled with obvious ideas and narrow-minded thinking. It can be hard to break free from the blinders of industry or culture or geography. What does it take to think different and have more empathy for people who are unlike ourselves? I call this "non-obvious thinking" and believe we can all use more of it. In my books, you won't find long winded academic prose (I trained as a screenwriter before shifting to business). Instead, I try to use a human voice to share real life stories, bulleted lists and acronyms to make ideas more useful. My goal in writing is to educate with a story while giving you some actionable tips on how to improve your business or accelerate your career. My five books have each been #1 best sellers on Amazon and the Non-Obvious series hit the Wall Street Journal list in 2015 and has reached more than a million readers over the past eight years. Outside of writing and publishing, my "day job" is as founder of the Non-Obvious Company—advising some of the biggest brands in the world on business, communications and innovation strategy. I am also often invited to speak at events around the world on business trends, marketing strategy and what it really takes to inspire people to buy or believe in ideas and companies. I am also an occasional professor at Georgetown Universityand my business card describes me as three things: "Trend Curator, Storyteller and Nice Guy." I invite you to email me directly and test that last claim for yourself: rohit [at] nonobviouscompany [dot] com.
