About the Author

Patricia J. Fanning is a lifelong resident of Norwood, Massachusetts, and professor emerita of sociology at Bridgewater State University. A former president of the Norwood Historical Society and current president of the Old Parish Preservation Volunteers, she has written several books related to the town of Norwood, including Norwood: A History (2002), South Norwood (Images of America series) (2004), Influenza and Inequality: One Town's Tragic Response to the Great Epidemic of 1918 (2010) and Keeping the Past: Norwood at 150 (2021).
