After Operation Ivy called it quits at the end of the '80s, Lookout put together this compilation of all of the recorded studio material ever released by the group. Much like Minor Threat's Complete Discography, this follows the recorded history of a band that burnt out quickly and had a relentlessly creative view of punk music. The underground classics are all here: "Take Warning," "Unity," "Freeze Up," "Junkie's Runnin' Dry," and 23 other prime tracks. Being one of the first bands to pursue the ska punk sound in California, Operation Ivy was a trailblazer in a genre that quickly became generic due to a glut of like-minded artists. But this should not be held against the group because they made fantastic music for the short time they existed. The CD comes complete with the lyrics to all of the songs, and several good pictures of the band. Countless bands would ape this sound without any creative improvement throughout the '90s, and two of the members would go on to lead the more punk-influenced Rancid. This might be the best ska punk collection by a single band committed to disc, and anyone with even a passing interest in the genre should do themselves a favor and buy this album right away.

I so love this cd! I've had it for a while now, but I still listen to it like, everyday. Operation Ivy is an awsome band and you've gotta get this cd!
Operation ivy iz the greatest band ever !!!
This is an oldie, but worth buying over and over. This is my 3rd time buying it due to thieves. It is a fun CD.
Operation Ivy was a great example to leave for the bands to come after them and to be influenced by them. This whole album is just full of awesome songs, no need to skip through some. If you start to feel disillusioned because of the lack of production, just listen to the music, and you'll be in the mood again! Great ska/punk/reggae cd!
this is probably the best thing to happen to punk music since The Clash (ask Tim), these guys did what every band should do before signing to a major label...break up
this cd is awesome. it is a must have for anybody who likes punk rock!!!
this cd is so awesome everyone should get it, its one of my favorite cds i have!!
This one of the best cds ever made. you can listen to it day and night and never get tired of it. You dont know punk until you know operation ivy.
Operation Ivy was one of the first four fathers of ska and in my opinion, the best. With almost half of the songs on this album covered by various punk bands, it just shows how much of an influence they have had on the punk scene. This cd is a blast to listen to and I recommened everyone who likes ska or punk to buy it!
Every song on this album gets stuck in my head.Op ivy is in my opinion the best ska band ever.If you like Rancid than you will DEFINETLY like op ivy.2 members of op ivy are in rancid. Its a must have for any Punk Rocker!
for as long as i can remember, op ivy has been one of the better punk/ska bands out there. this cd is my favorite one, and i listen to it everyday. if only musicians today could make stuff this good
If only this album had been better produced, it would be absolutely perfect! Operation Ivy was a great band, Every song on this album is original, catchy, and full of "energy"! From punk, to ska to a little reggae, they were awesome! It's a good thing the main songwriters went on to form another breakthrough band...Rancid. This cd is an essential for any punk rockers, old and new school!
