Middle of Somewhere: Book Two The only thing in Colin Mulligan’s life that makes sense is taking cars apart and putting them back together. In the auto shop where he works with his father and brothers, he tries to get through the day without having a panic attack or flying into a rage. Drinking helps. So does running and lifting weights until he can hardly stand. But none of it can change the fact that he’s gay, a secret he has kept from everyone.  Rafael Guerrera has found ways to live with the past he’s ashamed of. He’s dedicated his life to social justice work and to helping youth who, like him, had very little growing up. He has no time for love. Hell, he barely has time for himself. Somehow, everything about miserable, self-destructive Colin cries out to him. But down that path lie the troubles Rafe has worked so hard to leave behind. And as their relationship intensifies, Rafe and Colin are forced to dredge up secrets that both men would prefer stay buried.

Audio Review: Out of Nowhere is, by far, the best audio performance I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to. Spencer Goss is a brand new narrator for me, but after this stellar performance, you can guarantee that I will be looking for other narrations by him. He literally stayed within character from start to finish and his depiction of Colin was spot on. Colin is an emotional mess, his distress with life is palpable and almost debilitating, and Spencer Goss’s portrayal of his internal battle was flawless. I never once mistook his Colin’s character for Rafael. This performance felt personal, as if the narrator was Colin; his skill as a narrator, especially for this audio, is above reproach. I absolutely recommend this audio, and as a matter of fact, I have already starting telling anyone who will listen to give it a try. I was surprisingly stunned by this performance and now the bar is set so high that other narrators will have their work cut out for them. Spencer Goss ruined me, I won’t be able to listen to lackluster readings anymore. Overall Impression: It was amazing

There are definitely two sides to each story. I didn't think I could grow to like, let alone love, Colin after reading about him in "In the Middle of Somewhere." But I was wrong. He was such a broken man, who hated himself, and took that out on his younger brother, Daniel. The turmoil in his life, in himself, pulled me into his story. Luckily, Rafe, a LGBT youth group leader, was there for him in a dire time, and saw something in Colin that kept him coming back despite the baggage Colin carried. Rafe, too, had a history that he had to learn to overcome, giving him that understanding and calmness that defined him. I loved Rafe. His big, understanding heart was always there for Colin. One of the things I thought was interesting was seeing the difficulties between Colin and his brother Daniel from Colin's perspective. It really showed how there was two sides to every story. Not that it excused Colin's behavior, though. I was glad to see both Daniel and Rex back in this story. There is a lot of growth in this book among the characters, and I can't wait for more in this series. I'd love to see a book about Anders. There is definitely a story there that needs to be told.

Excellent. Didn't think I'd be into the next book because I loved the characters in the first book so much but I was just as into it as the last one.

The first one I did on audio, this one I read. And both are amazing books, but I think this kind of intense story I would enjoy having read to me. Will be buying on audio. So this one starts before his brother leaves, but it is all about Colin. Colin has lead a life of lies and deceit for so long he really doesn’t know any different. He could never imagine telling his tough as nails father and brothers not only is there one gay son in the family, but actually two! So he hides. Then one night his life changes, another anonymous hook up in a back alley turns into a arch angel coming to save the day and possibly his life. Unlike the first book, I found this one a lot harder to read/hear the story. Just the amount of hatred towards people. And I know its out there, but gosh. The self destruction Colin was doing, the hopelessness. Then when he finds a glimmer of hope he finds the real truth. Talk about two broken souls. Rafe and Colin need each other to fix each other but so many outside forces family, society, lies. It’s hard to see the light. And amazing tale with an amazing HEA

This is a wonderful story about two men finding each other, falling in love and finding freedom to be themselves.
