About the Author

My name is Joe Disch. I live in Wisconsin, where seemingly every restaurant features fried cheese curds. I run the Madison Paleo web site, and I also work at the Willy Street Grocery Co-op, where I've presented multiple staff trainings on paleo/primal and grain-free eating. I'm not a doctor, nutritionist, restaurateur or medical professional.

I have studied the paleo diet extensively and have been happily following it since the end of 2011. I feel better eating this way than I did on the high-grain, high-soy, vegetarian diet I once believed in.
