About the Author

I grew up reading Mills & Boon romances, Anne Mather being my favourite author - she rocked my world!. Later on I began writing Modern Romances as a hobby. Passion and Deceit was written with my love for India and all things Indian in mind. Besides reading and writing, I love making up stories and characters in my head, or spending quality time with my husband and daughter.

Wishing you happy reading.
Your feedback would be much appreciated.

Dear Readers
Due to an offer from a publishing house interested in Book1, Passion and Deceit, and Book 2, Passion and Denial, I have taken all six episodes of Passion and Deceit off smashwords while it will be edited and polished up to publishing standards. I do apologise to anyone who has not completed reading all six episodes, but I am eager to work with a professional editor, as P&D is really still a diamond in the rough, and I'd love to see it published as a professional body of work.
I shall keep my Profile and TimeShifter, which I hope to complete as soon as I have the time, on smashwords. Plus Umbeleko's quarterly letters on how our Children's Feeding Scheme is going.
Lastly, I would like to thank Mark Coker and smashwords for everything they have done, which has assisted me in getting where I am today. I had almost given up on writing when I found smashwords, and their support, plus the great feedback from readers, turned my life around.
I would like to thank all my readers, especially the ones who encouraged me with their great reviews and emails. If you would like to email me please do so as I love communicating with readers on:
I shall have a website up and running soon:, it’s currently under construction, but once ready I hope to communicate with readers, writers and aspiring writers. So, do keep an eye on my Profile from time to time and I'll keep you updated on what's new.
With many thanks and best regards

Just wanted to share the good news with all my readers; Passion & Deceit, Book One, was finally published in paperback and ebook by Black Opal Books. So, its now available to buy through smashwords and other retailers. I've almost completed Book Two, Passion & Denial, which will bring the story of Rajiv and Maya to an end. Hope to have it published early next year. I would like to thank my publishers; Black Opal Books and, of course, smashwords. If it wasn't for smashwords I doubt I would have managed to finally become a published author. Thank you smashwords, you rock!!

I enjoyed this series, I wish it was all one book. The next book picks up with the next chapter number. I found this strange. You need to read all of them in series. Too short, but you want to know what happens next. decent read.

When is part V coming out?

This is a story that is in four parts (40 - 50 pgs ea) - so plan on loading all four parts if you read it. But know that it is not complete. Each part ends at the end of a chapter. I assume that Atherton plans on completing this story, but there is currently no way to follower her or know when the other parts are available. She should have written and released the complete story as one piece instead of trying to emulate 50 Shades.

I enjoyed reading the book. It pulls a person into the story and you are left wanting more!

I was a little bummed when I saw it was only 12 pages but knew there was a second part. I haven't read it yet because I'm typing this review. I want to read the full story at once--novel length. Even if it's in parts, I'd prefer each to be a full novel that's part of a series. The good thing to note is, I'm actually irritated that it's not longer. In its current state, it's written neatly and concise enough that I'm eager to keep reading. That's good. Now out with the completed novel already, lol.

I have parts 1 - 6. Part one however is NOT complete!! I go into part 2 missing 3 chapters and some of the story.

At first I couldn't even get it to move past page 2 until I used the little bar at the bottom. Then on page 12, there's a letter from the author saying she'd had to remove the book from Smashwords, and they'd be "polishing"up this and book 2 for publication. I was just getting into it and...sorry, no book?! If they were removing it from Smashwords, it should have been taken from here, too. Not like I don't have zillions of other things to read, but it's still irritating!
