The repeative use of "seen" instead of "saw" is very distracting. Story is good otherwise.

Some aimple editing would enhance this read quite a bit. Aside from repetitive words/ phrases, the wrong tenses, mispelled, missing and mixed up words are highly distracting. If you can get past the confusion that the lack of editing causes, the story line has lots of potential. If the second book ever shows up, I hope that the author has hired a good editor and developed the supporting Fae characters in better detail than this first installation. Some areas of this book lingered too long on trivalities, while rushing through what could have been important, story telling building blocks. Missed opportunities abound, but there is enough of a nuget here to make me want to read the next book. I only hope that the messiness is cleaned up and some of the missed opportunites of this book are seized upon for the next one!

Lyssa and Toby thought they were normal teenagers. High school students that ran in different circles neither could understand the weird things that started to happen around them or why they felt a strange connection to each other. Little did either of them know that absolutely nothing about their lives is what it seemed. This was an interesting story with a very color group of characters ranging from regular people to Banshees. There was a ton going on from the start with everything not being explained and I felt like it got a bit scattered about half way through leaving a lot of unanswered questions. That being said I did enjoy the overall plot of the story and really liked a few of the characters that I hope to see more of in the future. There is a lot of potential for the next book as the story about this fantastical realm continues and in my opinion Children of Fae is worth a read.
