Overview

Peter Darling by Austin Chant

I loved this! Not only because of its unexpectedly adorable Pan/Hook romance, but because it recasts and kind of fixes a lot of the things that had disturbed me about canon Peter Pan all these years. Peter’s tendency to kill people and not care, and indeed to forget about many important details of life—Austin Chant gives a magical explanation that I can totally get behind and feel good about. Now I can enjoy Neverland without feeling creeped out by all the coldblooded murder, ha. Thoroughly charmed!!

This was jarring and cute at the same time. I really liked this reimagining of Peter and Hook and Neverland itself. It's a world of magic and yet more danger than any of us remember. The characters were great. It was magic itself to watch them discover themselves even when the journey was painful.
