When Sam Cooke-lovin' Journey singer Steve Perry released his first solo album in 1984, it was to test the waters during some rare downtime between albums for the arena rock legends. The first single, "Oh Sherrie," was a smash and sowed the seeds for a possible future without his bandmates, which is exactly what happened in 1988 after Raised on Radio failed to live up to the standard of the Journey money-making machine. Perry never regained the spotlight, though he released numerous singles and records, all of which are represented here in one form or another.
