This book is full of information which confirms what I learned in college. I'm the same age as Al Gore, and from what I learned at the University, Al Gore's take on warming cycles is unwarranted.

The ease with which this book demolishes the the junk science of anthropogenic global warming makes this a valuable tool in the fight against propaganda masquerading as science!

Fascinating book, filled with solid research and plenty of examples of manipulation by the media and extremists! It is important to remember that all things go in cycles, including the average temperatures across the globe. I'm old enough to remember the 'Global Cooling' scare in its heyday. After 'global cooling,' it is only logical that we would experience 'global warming.' However, the media and political elite would place the blame for this phenomenon squarely upon the human race, when there are other facts involved that are completely ignored by these same groups. For instance, in Antartica, ice cores have been taken that date back to many millenia ago. These ice cores show MULTIPLE occurrences of global warming, LONG BEFORE humans used anything other than hand tools. The political elite don't tell you about that because it would demonstrate the earth's natural temperature swings and variations. Before you blindly follow along, read this book and think for yourself. I'm not saying that people shouldn't care about the environment. On the contrary! We must care for and nuture the environment, but we can do so without creating a fictional problem.

Christopher C. Horner slam dunks the Global Warming threat into the trash can where it belongs. Compiling an endless source of researched scientific data to expose the ignorance of the media, ABC nightly news in particular, the author treats the reader to a delightful revelation of the absurdity that has captured the minds of the uninformed. Politics as usual, greased by greed and money, turns the wheel of this fable of the Global Warming peril, confirming at least some things remain constant. Informative, creatively presented, non-stop assaults and hard-copy scientific evidence make this must-read an investment for the present and future mental health of America and the world. A special mission needs to be established to the media world, lost in it's Hollywood-Washingtonian maze. TL Farley, author, When Now Becomes Too Late, Distant Reaches

With colorful headlines and movies (all fictional, inconvenient and otherwise, you will find) about the supposed threats of Global Warming (particularly Man-Made Global Warming), this book is a refreshing debunking of what is probably the most evil conspiracy of policy-makers, well-intentioned dupes (ie.: Most Environmentalists), and Corporate Scumbags (Yes! Corporate Scumbags! Like Enron, Dupont, Archer Daniels Midland), to facilitate a One World Government that is the very antithesis of the ideals of Liberty that underpin Human, and Environmental, progress. In this book you will find dissections of the Kyoto treaty, of the scientific and political debates over the supposed evidence of Man's innate ability, and supposed Manifest Destiny, to destroy the global environment, and of the sometimes surprising co-conspirators in the mad power grab that is the Global Warming Hype. While not denying the effects of pollutants, this book illustrates the relative costs of attacking such problems head-on Vs. adopting an overarching Global Alarmist Agenda (which has caused Europe dearly in recent years, since signing on to Kyoto). Don't be a Dupe at least try this book on for size. If you really care about these issues, then intellectual honesty demands you consider this book. If, after reading this book, you still stand with the likes of Al Gore, his cronies and the lazy, uncritical mainstream media, then it is because you choose to, against all evidence and sense.

A devastating look at the green movement. Lots of numbers and data to back up the thesis that the earth is used fluctuations in the environment and that the political melodrama is getting in the way of this fact. His main contention is that the greens are simply using environmentalism as a tool to bring about world government. Based on the included quotes of some of the movement's leaders, it's hard to disagree. It is funny that all the defenders of Stalinism gave way to the defenders of Goreism on the political Left, isn't it? Whatever the flavor of the decade I suppose.

Sad that solid facts to back up sound arguments are lost amid a political hack job. There are real, honest to goodness scientific nuggets that need to see the light of day which are presented in this book. However, the method of presentation leaves much to be desired. When the argument should be presented as such - "The global warming-hurricane's getting worse connection just can't be made because the data simply doesn't back it up", it ends up coming across like this "The global warming-hurricane connection, pushed by liberal envirowhackos, seemingly can't be made because the data doesn't back it up, thus again proving their idiotic agenda has no merit." I'm paraphrasing & making extreme examples of course, but my point is when you mix the politics & the science it's that much easier to dismiss the science. And that comes across as a huge disappointment when reading this book.

The cliché warns against judging books based upon their cover¿s appearance; this book definitely benefits from that maxim. One would expect a work destroying ¿global warming¿ or ¿global climate change¿ alarmism to be science-based and provide facts and reasoning. Part of a series boasting its political incorrectness, this book¿s cover art is misleading. The edition I read features a tipsy penguin, complete with lei, looking like he is leaving a Spuds McKenzie after party. To further detract from any imposition of seriousness, there is a cute little cartoon pig peering from a circle ¿ the mascot for the Politically Incorrect Guide (P.I.G.) series. While nothing on its cover does anything to purport a decidedly scientific work, possibly aside from the author¿s name, a casual flip through the pages continues to belie Mr. Horner's thorough dismantling of ¿catastrophic, only ten-years to stop the extinction of man, colder regions actually signify warming, global warming¿ hysteria at the detriment to science. The book is filled with shaded boxes with quotes, graphs and news article excerpts, again adorned with whimsical icons. While not a scientist himself, Christopher C. Horner is a political junkie looking in on the circular logic, political aspirations of the global warming alarmists (i.e. higher taxes, global governance, Kyoto Protocol), and selective use of the facts. A favorite target in the book is the most outspoken alarmist, who also is not a scientist, Vice President Al Gore. Via his prolific work, all kinds of alarms (and money) are made; be it books, live interviews, a movie based on a PowerPoint presentation, the former Vice President has a lot to offer, making it all the easier for Mr. Horner to dissect climate changes suspect history, leading all the way up to, and including, Al Gore¿s efforts in 2006 (the last year before the book was published).Like mile-long ice core samples, or more contemporary temperature records, and even increasingly (yet, however, brief of record) high-tech satellite imagery, the global warming ¿Truthers¿ have left a record of their claims which date back about a century. Just as reliable as the coming-and-goings of ice ages, the climate change alarmists have vacillated from warming to cooling at least twice. Not only does Mr. Horner construct timelines of their claims regarding either global cooling or warming and associated doom to the planet, he illustrates how, as he puts it, facts have been ¿airbrushed¿ from the record. Charts and graphs have been constructed with selective data and baselines ignored; once hyperbolic claims, later proven wildly inaccurate or unnecessarily alarmist have been removed from United Nations reports or retractions buried in newspapers; and self-congratulatory affirmations of alarmists by vaunted scientists have been reported with the utmost glee, only to have refutation of said scientists upset that an atta-boy was taken out of context or the impetus of a scathing report was completely turned upside down and inside-out to falsely support something like an 80 foot rise in the sea level will happen next week.Similar to an Iraqi government official under Saddam Hussein providing tour of power plants to prove to UN nuclear inspectors they are not dabbling in uranium enrichment, the Man-made Global Warming ¿Chicken Littles¿ are directing our collective attention to highly emotional occurrences. Driving our attention to the shrinking Upsala glacier, emotions trump skepticism. If the Upsala glacier is the steam generator for Iraqi power proudly evinced by the tour guide as proof of no nuclear ambition, the Moreno glacier is the nuclear centrifuges behind the door across the hall. The Moreno glacier is growing and a mere 50 kilometers away. It really takes a suspension of disbelief to believe it is so hot to melt a mountain top glacier but be so cold another glacier is enlarging. Global warming proponents have successfully admonished large sections of the

This in depth writing about one of the largest issues facing the US & the world exposes the lies of those who wish to see only bigger Government. Al Gore, environmentolist, the UN and the UE would have our country 'the US'implode on itself and become another economical disaster that paves the way for the socialist/communist to take over. The 'Red' has become the 'Green'. Is it a conspiracy? You bet!Read this book and you'll understand.

A great tool to educate yourself on the subject, without the hard-to-understand scientific jargon. There is so much information in this book that I am reading it for a second time ¿ highlighter in hand. I have not studied like this since college. This book gives you the information needed to speak intelligently when the ¿What do you think about global warming¿ subject comes up. Many people have never heard the other side of the argument and are interested in hearing more. My 8 and 12 year old girls would hear me read some tidbits of information to my husband and became very interested. When they would get in the car after school, they would ask, ¿What did you read about today¿. Now when they hear the doom and gloom about global warming in the news, on science shows or commercials they smile and give me that knowing look of skepticism. Last month my 12 year old daughter brought home a ¿Time for Kids¿ newspaper about Earth Day. She knew the information was wrong and wanted to use my book to take notes for the discussion the next day. The teacher was impressed with her information and wanted to know the name of the book. This book should be read by students, starting in middle school, to combat the misinformation that they receive on global warming. My kids want to read it when they are a little older and can ¿understand those big words¿.

This book is amazing. It debunks an incredible amount of the data that we've been fed, and shows how through media manipulation and data falsification, we've been led to believe, by the extreme environmentalists who so despise humanity that some would prefer to see us die off, that this planet is headed for an inevitable global catastrophe of mankind's making. It's simply not true. The book exposes the lies, recommends many, many other books that will reveal the truth, and shows what sort of ridiculous predictions doomsayers like today's modern eco-freaks have made in the past, such as the notion that by the 1980's there would be no fresh water left in the world, and that even the most developed nations would be unable to feed their populations. If you REALLY care about this world, if you REALLY want to know the truth about the environment -- READ -- THIS -- BOOK!!!!

A simple expirment, take a glass of water and put ice in it and measure the waters temprature, then microwave the cup and measure the water's temprature and it should have gone down. Ice is an insulator and till it melts the waters won't cool. For the argument that the world was warmer, well in fact it was and at one point the surface at the equator was 200 degrees F, however humans didn't evolve until the earth was in fact an ice age, and all of the animals and plants around us evolved in a cooler period of time leaving only insects as sole creatures that expirenced warm climate periods on the earth. it would be bad for all of the current life to expirence a warming, however if it does warm back to 200 degrees, than life will continue but humanity will not. So the author picks and choses his facts and make horrible assumptions. Not scientific at all in the methods used to argue, waste of time.

This is fascinating reading as to how much dis-information is being distributed that ignores the real science and evidence around climate change. Even the U.S. Navy has reports stating the arctic ice is continuing to shrink due to an overall warming of the planet and we very likely are significant contributors. The N.S.A. regards climate change a national threat. For those who truly want to study both sides of the climate issue. Do read this book, take note of the quality of its references. Then read "The Weather Makers" and start thinking for yourself....

I read "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming" immediately after reading Bill McKibben's book "Eaarth". What I was hoping for was a well thought out book listing counter arguments to Mr. McKibben's rather depressing one. What I found was a sophomoric book I had to force myself to finish. Mr. Horner did not make as much scientific arguments, as he did immature character attacks on environmentalists in general. His main points throughout the book are that every single environmentalist is a communist, and any scientist supporting the theory of global warming is either deluded or out to control you, both of which are absurd. In any case, I couldn't take any of his points seriously because I couldn't get past his childish arguments. Disappointing.

continue to stick your head in the sand, read this book. The author represents a sad attempt at being a scientist and doesn't even bother to use facts to back up some of his claims. Junk science, junk book. Don't wast your money.
