This book is the story of Domenico Martino, a young immigrant boy, who- though he did not find the streets paved with the proverbial gold of the New World- did indeed find a land of opportunity, adventure, growth, and ultimately, a new homeland. Pop's story spans two continents, the beginning of a new century, two world wars and includes reminiscences of the hinterland of Canada. As Pop neared his 80th birthday, he looked back over the years- years marked with joy and tragedy, success and failure, and the normal vicissitudes encountered by all of us.
