An intense sadistic tale of how one man will save the world through sterilization.
When Todd was just a child, he learned that sometimes it was necessary to sterilize or euthanize animals in order to keep their population from growing too rapidly. It was the humane thing to do, the best thing for the environment. Yet, every day at his job at the Welfare Department, Todd sees the dregs of humanity multiplying unchecked, overburdening the earth with a tidal wave of waste, abuse, and cruelty. But if he can convince them not to reproduce, if he can convince everyone to voluntarily sterilize themselves, then he might just prevent the coming population explosion. And those who can't be convinced...
Population Zero is the story of an environmental activist named Todd Hammerstein who is on a mission to save the planet. In just 50 years the population of the planet is expected to double. But not if Todd can help it.
From Wrath James White, the celebrated master of sex and splatter, comes a tale of environmentalism, drugs, and genital mutilation.

This was the first of many to come Wrath James White books I have now read. I had read previously his co-authored novella with Edward Lee that caused me to hunt down any books I could lay my hands on. And as was to expected Deadite Press once again comes to the bat and delivers the goods. White, like my other favorite extreme horror novelist Lee, can write. This man is no hack writer spewing out another ridiculous vampire or zombie tale. This man pushes the envelope of pure horror, gut wrenching human acts of utter hate and a deep philosophy. Throughout White's writings we as the reader will question the nature of god, the nature of evil, (which in White's works are generally all very human.) Supernatural undertones in his work play second base to the human monster. This novella sees a young child, Todd, witness this human monster end the lives of his parents, leaving him a shell shocked human that will later interact with the other characters, steering their lives into a cyclone of misery and self-worthlessness all based on the ideas of a man he follows. The main premise of the idea is over population. And well, Todd has his ways of dealing with it. The last act he commits is easily the most brutal depiction of one man's dark reasoning's and evil ever committed to paper or celluloid. Extreme horror gets no better then Mr. White and IMHO, if you love horror fiction you must get on the White bandwagon and grab everything you can by him. There is not one piece of writing he has done that isn't unique and above par in his field. Long live White!!
