About the Author

Augie Fleras is an adjunct professor of sociology at the University of Waterloo. He earned his PhD in Maori studies and social anthropology from Victoria University of Wellington (New Zealand). Fleras received a lifetime achievement award from the Canadian Ethnic Studies Association for longstanding contributions.
